Mitch Mitchell: Found dead at the age of 61

Jimi Hendrix’s drummer Mitch Mitchell was found dead in his hotel room in Portland early Wednesday, at the age of 61, and the group’s last surviving member.

He was drumming during the Experience Hendrix Tour, which had its last stop in Portland. Mitchell was found dead at Portland’s Bonson Hotel. Assuming to Erin Patrick he died of natural causes. A spokes person for the tour announced that Mitchell had a four day vacation, and was going to leave on Wednesday. Two weeks ago, in Los Angeles, Mitchell looked healthy and upbeat.

Mitch was a talented drummer who kept the band's beat, and if Jimi Hendrix was still alive he would acknowledge that. Hendrix's step-sister says that Mitchell was a talented fellow who gave his heart into music.

Remembering Mitchell, he was known as a one-of-a-kind- drummer. He had a jazzy style and was always something you want to see live. There were many people around the world who went to see the Experience Hendrix Tour, and were blown away by his talent. This is a tragedy that stuck many Hendrix fans all around the world.
