Green Day Rockband

Mid-December it was officially announced on the Spike TV Video Game Awards that the band were in works with Harmonix to release a Rockband video game with songs spanning their entire career.

Not much else has been announced about the video game besides a few production stills and a trailer showcasing the song American Idiot and a game venue that draws more than a passing resemblance to the Milton Keynes venue where the concert DVD Bullet in a Bible was shot in summer 2005.

The lack of little else information has lead fans to theorize just what might come with the game. Talks of replica instrument controllers, a 924 Gilman St level and more have been brought up on quite a few fan message boards.

What we do know for sure is that whatever songs don't make it into the final cut of the game they will be available for purchase from the game's website. And another plus is that you can buy the songs to play on the standard Rockband/Rockband 2 games if you aren‘t interested in buying a whole new game.

Green Day Rockband is slated for release mid to late 2010.
