They also use stem cell research with the cut ebylical. Cords and placenta that are discarded after giving birth. It isn't all about dead bodies and aborted babies.
I thought those diseases that they'd found "cures" for were from adult stem cells. Am I wrong? From the research I've done, and from the things I've heard; nothing has yet come of embryonic stem cell research.
I think it should be legalized in the same way that abortion is.
Then everybody has their free will. They have the choice to take it or leave it and if they're opposed to it they can deny themselves that treatment.
I'm not exactly sure how this works, but I'm going to assume that the stem cells are taken from aborted children? I'm against abortion to start with, but I'm in a mixed mind about stem cell research. In one way, I suppose it's better to save lives with it than to waste, but at the same time, that is a corpse. A grown individual has the choice of donating their bodies to science. An embryo can't give the okay.
I just don't know.
But also, you can get the same cells from an umbillical cord. This shouldn't have to be done.
I agree with stem cell research, it can be the future for the human race but there will always be people holding it back
Scientists just need to be given the go, they can be the saviours of the human race against all the nasty diseases and cancers, but they can't be if they're continually denied.
I'd accept stem cells if it meant saving my life or saving the lives of my loved ones
Unfortunately there's always people who disagree with this :/
I'm against it. I just don't think it's something we should muck around with. I also firmly believe that embryo's are a human life and should not be used for things like this.
Yes, it's wonderful that it could provide a cure, but we don't know if it can. I'm all for stem cell research that doesn't mean creating/killing embryo's, otherwise no.
I can only put myself in a position of if I were a cancer patient, and I wouldn't accept treatment from stem cell research. Even if it meant dying. I wouldn't. I just think it's wrong, because right now it's not a case of sacrificing one life for many, it's a case of sacrificing many lives for a number yet unknown.
I like this article, because you've done research and it's well presented. I just don't agree with your point of view.
If stem cell research can reach all the potentials researchers say they can, what's so bad about it? It will save lives, for chrissake. And stem cells don't just come from embryos, so I have no idea what opposers are complaining about. Most stem cells are found in bone marrow.
