Wow this is brilliant and excellently written. You've picked a very intriguing topic to write an article about and lately I've been extremely curious about psychiatric issues and I'm considering going into it as a career when I'm older. This was really helpful for me, as today in English we prepared articles ourselves and I chose Schizophrenia also, as I think there are many interesting aspects of the illness. Of course, I had to use a rather sympathetic tone in my writing, as it's a very delicate topic, but I can't help but be completely overwhelmed by the whole entity of it. I think it's wondrous how so much could be said about one subject at hand and how immensely interesting it can be. I've been thinking about how the mind works for a while now, because I'm really intrigued by it and I guess that's why I'm really interested in Science, but I'm not too great at it. I think that this article was absolutely mesmerizing and it really did open my eyes. Thank you for sharing this with us. It really is one of the best pieces I've ever read.

This past January, I was dignosed (sorry for my spelling) with PPDDOS which stands for: Post Pyshcotic Deppresion Disoroder Of Schizophrenia.

Which, is a form of Schizophrenia which is caused by depression. It is very hard to deal with, since I hate crowds, when I am extremly stressed, I hear voices, even though I'm on tons of meds.

And once. Again sorry for my spelling, I'm on my tablet.

I found this extremely interesting! I work with a man who's schizophrenic, so I'm always trying to find more articles/etc about schizophrenia.

As a Psychology major I enjoyed your article very much. Its a topic that most have a hard time understanding. well done

My adopted little brother is a part of the rare population of those diagnosed with childhood-onset schizophrenia. He was officially diagnosed at age nine, but believed to have had the disease for years before diagnosis. He was in an inpatient facility for nearly three years. He was also recently diagnosed as a part of the high functioning end of the autism spectrum. I have been researching schizophrenia, particularly early onset, to try and help him.

While there will always be an argument of nature vs. nurture, schizophrenia is believed to be more of a genetic cause because, like dementia, it is deterioration of the brain itself. Some recent studies have suggested that exposure to hallucinogenic drugs while in the womb or within the first few years of life, may cause schizophrenia later on. It's an interesting idea to think about but there are no definitive answers.
