• I agree, but at the same time, I know people don't always kill animals for sick pleasure- people who are not wealthy need food and at times clothing. Are you fine with animals being used for food, and clothing, basic necessities of the world? Because if not, are we all supposed to be vegetarians? And if places where plants and vegetables are not abundant- such as Africans plains, or deserts, should the people be forced to leave or starve? Good article, but it brings up questions that I feel would be nice to answer.

• People need to settle down. This was a good article! You worded it perfectly.
Very, very nice.

OH OH OH. I'VE GOT AN IDEA. If you really hate animal abuse, take in every single animal and protect it. THAT WAY, you know they'll never be abused! :D Wonderful idea, no? Too bad you don't hate animal abuse enough to do that.

It requires very little brain power to be sarcastic, doesn't it?

• You don't have to get protein from supplements. You can get it from soy, tofu, nuts, and many more plant sources.
August 31st, 2009 at 02:32am
• my point it, people have lived off of animals for thousands of years. i don't see any reason why people should stop now, okay? and yeah, people can get protein from somewhere else, some vitamin or something. well, u go do that. you don't HAVE to have meat- if you're a vegetarian (which it sounds like u are) then don't have meat. end of issue.

• Let be reword this before someone flips out on me...

People do not need animal protein. There are plenty enough sources of plant protein available to most humans, with the exception of those who are allergic to all of those sources, those who are homeless, etc.

• of course animal abuse is horrible, inhumane and is down right disgusting. . . it just seems like the author doesn't understand a few things. it's not like every day thousands of animals are being shot because someone wanted to test out a new gun. that's just ONE bad person- and u you don't think humans need meat? sure, people "murder" cows, but do u think their life's been wasted? hell, people need meat. people need protein. it's not like every animal is being slaughtered for no reason, lady.

• I never said it was. Perhaps you are thinking about a different situation than mine.

I do not intend to just stand by and let anyone suffer. I will do what I can to help. I do know, however, that some cases are hopeless.

• "We can change it by making it better. It will, of course, not be perfect."

Things like that make me realize how naive people are these days. The world is not owned by humans; it wasn't ours for the taking. Just because we're at the top of the food chain doesn't mean we dictate what to do with mother Earth. Our civilization is not what makes up the world either.

And the only things that get better is our own issues; our own people issues. The world itself has always been imperfect and flawed and unforgiving in so many ways. It has never been better; it has always been back to square one. We need to realize that we can't fix something that's been terribly broken and just go on with our lives.

Humans and other animals are living in harmony in its own twisted way; let it be. (No Beatles pun intendid).

If you're talking about me, I do not condemn them.

• "The Beatles said it best : 'Nothing's gonna change my world.'"

I thought it was "Nothing's going to change my world."

We can change it by making it better. It will, of course, not be perfect.

• Animal abuse is lame and wrong but lets not get anal about it. I'm a vegetarian, though the ignorant "EW YOU EAT MEAT" whining people annoy the shit out out me. also, I think readers have to respect them being aware of whats going on and trying to spread the word out. Wow...this comment is really hypocritical ._.

• "...if all the human stop killing animals it would be a better place."

I don't think that's possible. Hell, that's impossible.
Humans are savage in nature, and it is part of the circle of life for everything to die. Even if the entire human population went vegan, the animal kingdom will still be cruel. The creatures out there aren't exactly best friends, you know. Animals kill each other; that's how they survive. In this world, there will always be danger. Nothing can't stop it.
The Beatles said it best : "Nothing's gonna change my world."

And this article may have good intentions, but this subject is getting over-done and very redundant. Animal abuse is wrong, we get it already. We don't nead the sympathy / scare tactics either. There are far worse issues out there.

• I do stuff for humans sometimes, but most of my work goes to animals. That does not mean I am not for human causes.

• "But I'd rather have an animal abused than a human. I'd be damned if I'd rather have an animal abused than a human if the human does nothing to stop the abuser. We at least can speak and do, while animals can't."

Nobody said that animal abuse is worse than human abuse. That does not mean we shouldn't try to stop it. Just because animals cannot speak our language does not mean they deserve the abuse they get.

If you cannot help humans or just prefer not to for whatever reason (maybe too time-consuming or something,) then I'd say go help animals.

Nobody can do everything, but everyone can do something. I choose animals, but that's just me. Some people do not know what they can do for humans, or they do not have enough time.

Maybe someone should create an article on helping humans.

I created an article on helping others, but it's not exclusively human. I'm pretty sure some of it is human, but other parts aren't. I forget.
