This is a good article. My mom had a cockatiel when she was a kid, and it used to sing whenever somebody visited the house =) I really wanted one until she told me the time she came home and found a trail of feathers leading out of the living room from where her dog had savaged it ='(
We've had our cockatiel for about 17 years now. I thought this pretty accurate. I don't know if this is all cockatiels, but ours also flattens her crest down when she's bored.
I had two of these birds growing up. One named Pepper the other named Peaches. There were together for a long time and died together. I miss them so much. I love this article. Glad you wrote it :)
omfg these are my most favorite birds. They are so cute. <3 I wouldn't want one as a pet, since I'd get annoyed and all... but they are still cute. ;w;
I heard they can't eat citrus fruits. I had two parakeets and two cockatiels, both at the same time. Our parakeets would talk more without the other bigger birds--though they would twittle quietly sometimes. The cockatiels had a very loud, high pitched screech that hurt my years. Also, if you have music that you want to listen to uninterrupted, birds aren't the best thing to have in the room, they won't shut up. Also, they are really dandruff-y.
We got rid of our birds cuz they were a pain in the butt. Fish are nice though. :) And outside dogs are easy to take care of. Cats are as easy as fish to take care of.
