This was really interesting to me since I am a natural redhead. I got it from my father along with the pale skin and freckles. The article was well written and had very good information.

I liked this article and I'm a big fan of ginger hair, so finger's crossed that they don't disappear.

this was a well-written and informative article. it'd sound near-professional if there weren't any spelling or grammatical errors. :]

i would be horror-struck to find the red-headed gene extinct. where i come from, we make plans for our ginger friends to mate with one another. :P

I certainly hope they aren't extinct in fifty years. I'm hoping to still be alive and have had some redheaded children by then. XD

I hope not! Really, redheads rock.

And I like how people get offended by the term 'ginger' (no offence to ANYONE) one of my best friends is a redhead and thats her nickname in the group, she likes that its individual. So she gets called 'ginge' because she's the only one who can be :)

Be proud to be a redhead, I have random ginger streaks in mine :D natural ofc

Wow, this article is interesting and I can't believe science dedicates their time on human hair. If they used money for this, they're simply wasting their time and the governments money. But, that's just my opinion.
Nice article, though. Very interesting and unique!

    lol. That was cute.
Is it ironic that if I go out in the sun for too long, my hair turns red?
Because it's supposed to be black.

    Hah. that's funny xD
As a natural redhead, i think it slightly creepy when people come up to me saying that love my hair oO
I had a teacher once who was a red head - her parents were both dark brunettes.
I do love my hair colour, but if it DOES die out, then I guess that's something we'll all have to live with :/

    interesting article...also scary
I like red hair. I'm naturally brunette, but I've dyed mine red once or twice.

but what about purple hair? I know a girl with naturally deep violet hair. That's got to be more rare than red hair! lol

HAHAHA Gingerism? Is that what they're calling it now? I'm a redhead (naturally) and my personal opinion (not that it counts for much, since we're generally dumber than blondes...) is that this redhead thing is just a rumor. Especially the part about redheads being gone as soon as 2060. What about the redheads being born right now, and the ones that were just born? They won't be dead by 2060, unless some freak accident happens killing all redheads. Haha, I can keep going. But basically, this is a rumor. No doubt.

Once upon a time people used red hair as evidence of witchcraft.

I liked this article, but I don't understand your explanation of how red hair came about.

    Gingerism is terrible..
Believe me. I've been picked on by my fair share of gingerists.
But little ol' ladies love it. Thoroughly makes up for it really.

This ginger extinction thing is quite amusing though, 'cause I made a joke once that we were an endangered species. I wore a sticker that said it once actually, I'd written on it that I had to be treated nice 'cause I was endangered.

    2060 is a bit soon though, isn't it? I'd only be 66.
