Should NHL Players Represent Where They Come From?
Usually when you watch a game of hockey, you're not looking at the jersey design of any players. The things you usually watch are the puck, the players - where they go. But maybe someone should pay more attention to the design.
On some jerseys, an American flag or a Canadian flag is shown on the arm of the jersey. Only some. And sure, if the team is in America maybe they should sport a flag, same goes for Canada. But I believe your international status is important too.
Especially if you're a Canadian gold-winning player like Sidney Crosby. He, of all people, should be wearing the red leaf, even off the world stage.
Would you wanna be wearing your country's flag? If we have to listen to the American anthem every time we're out there for a game, we should at least be able to have our country just a little close to us.
I don't believe anyone had brought this subject up before. And I know with all the buzz about concussions, it's not that important. But maybe it should be.
I ask you this: If you were playing in the NHL, or any professional level, would you like the chance to rep where you come from?
