Mini Scooter

Mini Scooter Scooter has nothing to do with a techno band from Germany or a motorcycle. Our Scooter is the smallest dog around. That Maltese terrier is only 8 centimeters tall, barely the height of a tea cup.

“He was the same size as the other two pups when they were born but as they grew, he didn't", said Cheryl McKnight, the owner.

Scooter weighs no more than a block of butter, barely 400 grams. Since he’s a white fluffball hard to notice, Cheryl made special purple clothes for her pet - so she can easily see him when moving about.

"It really is quite something. I can't take him for a walk or put a leash on him", she says.

Eventhough he’s small, Scooter does the usual things, what every other dog does. He may be a bit odd for eating from an egg cup and sleeping in a shoebox though. Stairs seem to be his biggest problem - but Cheryl’s grandson helps him out.

"For the first 10 weeks or so I didn't really want him. I thought nah, someone else can have him.

"But over time I've fallen in love with him. I would hate to give him away now."

Scooter is most likely to get into The Guinness Book of World Records. Today’s holder is American chihuahua Boo Boo, 2 centimeters taller than Scooter.
