Life After Twilight? - Comments

  • I know exactly what your talking about..
I just got done reading Breaking Dawn (and crying..lol)..
And i think that i am going through PTD..
Otherwise known as Post Twilight Depression..
I just can't get into any other book after reading that beauty of a series of books..
Everything else I try to read seems mediocre and frankly not as interesting..

I will probobally just read the series again..
But hopefully some book can cure me of PTD..

  • House Of Night Seris.
Another vampire thing, but very different from Twilight.
It follows a vampire feldgling who has special powers in the vampire world and must keep her friends, learn to use her powers, and figure out who's causing the mysterious deaths well dealing with her parents new cold attitudes and her human boyfriend who can't seem to let go.

  • You could try anything by Matthew Reilly...Theres the Scarecrow series which is Ice Station, Area 7 and Scarecrow, then the Jack West one which is The Seven Acient Wonders and The Six Sacred Stones, and theres Hovercar Racer, Temple, Contest and Hell Island...All really really really good books...He's an Australian Author, and although their about army sorta stuff, their an excellent read, and very addicitive...He writes well...or otherwise you could try John Marsden, another Australian author...Try the Tomorrow series, beginning with Tomorrow When the War Began...Its a series about these aussie kids who go camping and come back to find themselves in the middle of a war, so they start fighting...They're two of my favorite authors, so yea, maybe try em?

  • The Vampire Chronicals by Anne Rice, starting with Interview With the Vampire.

It's about vampires, and I bet you anything you'll like it more than Twilight.

  • Some of my favorites are Harry Potter by J. K. Rowling.

    Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead
Rose and Lissa ran away from the Vladimer Academy and two years later are forced to come back. I'm not sure how to summarize it without giving much away. Basically Rose has to learn how to protect Lissa so that when they're 18 she can become Lissa's guardian but Rose has a short temper, little patience, and just jumps into things. It's a really good book.

    The Host by Stephenie Meyer
Wanderer is a soul and placed in Melanie's, a 22 year old human, body. When a soul goes into a host body they take over and the body's mind is gone but with Melanie she's still there and she's not leaving.

    Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson
Something happened to Melinda during the summer before her freshman year and now everyone hates her. She has no friends and won't talk. No one knows what happened to her, why she did what she did, or why she's changing. And no one cares.

  • I know exactly what you mean, I didn't know what else to read.
As far as love stories go, I don't think any will match it.

    But some good books are
-A Million Little Pieces by James Frey
It's a semi fictional autobiography about him going through rehab.
Sounds dull, but it's realllly good.

-My Friend Leonard by James Frey
It's the continuation of James' life. It's got a good twist in it, and is even better than the first book. But you do have to read Million little pieces first.

-A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini
It's about the lives of two women in Kabul I believe? I read it a while ago. So I'm not sure anymore about specific locations. But it's very emotional and twisting at times. It's one of the best books I've ever read, but it is serious.
