Voting is overrated.... - Comments

  • I get what you mean, but our candidates talk out of their butts, I mean they say what we want to hear, so researching their pasts would be the only thing I can see being useful to see how they are... Like most people don't know this but Obama is racist, he hung out with the Rev till of course it was on TV what the Rev was doing and THEN he disowned him to get the favor of people, and in his books he stipulates that he dislikes his mom or stepmom etc because she's white. Then McCain is a whole new story, we're screwed either way.

I'm sorry you live in a place like that, and that's the reason I tell my fellow Americans to be proud to be American, because it could be worse...

  • that was a very good post. what country are you from? i'm a US citizen, but i'm in germany right now and its stupid how everyone has a Che Guevara shirt or pin.

you made a good point about ignorant people voting. i bet if ignorant people didn't vote in this election, Obama wouldn't stand a chance.

you say your country just basically turned socialist, thats going to happen to ours too if OB wins...

    good journal

  • Having a choice doesn't mean that voters are informed. Lots of people here just vote along party lines. They don't bother to research other candidates, and they just don't care much what they say.

To me, I can't believe that there are still McCain supporters. I mean, yeah, maybe Obama isn't as great as he's cracked up to be, but he's definitely better than McCain.

Regardless, I think peole should have to pass a test or something. I'm so sick of retards being allowed to vote without being informed.

  • I'm not a fan of politics. Each candidates talk about making stupid decisions. I like Obama but he can be slightly iffy at times. Universal health care would be good.

My dad's saying is, "Never underestimate the stupidity if Americans." Cause he's australian. Gee, thanks dad. Totally not offending my nationality, but he's right. Most voters don't know or care about what the hell the candidates believe in, but dig up their past and make this huge ordeal about it.

Politics is just a popularity contest. High school never ends, does it? tsk tsk.

  • I've never voted yet. I won't do so until I've taken the time to see what every party has to offer (even though they are all are shit)

  • Heh... I think the voting this year is a sudden interest because ... Yeah.

  • In the US though, not everyone is an educated voter. Yes, millions are, but there are still people who throw their votes at certain candidates for reasons that don't make sense- such as age, gender, race, and others that don't even relate to politics.

Politics in itself though is never perfect so we always just have to work with whatever hand we've been dealt and hope we make it through the final round of the game.

  • I believe voting is a responsibility of being a citizen.

But then, I plan on jumping ship and escaping to another country...
