True Veganism? - Comments

  • Live on the moon and make soup out of moonrock. That's the only way I can see that will work for hardcore veganism ideologies. XD

  • I look at it this way, if you stop eating the meat that's distributed, wouldn't that be a waiste? Wouldn't the animal have died for no reason? Wouldn't the meat just go back and thus they'd kill more? IDK I just think of those and that helps me eat my meat... :)

  • All species are destructive to each other. In my opinion, veganism to such an extreme degree is a waste of time. Despite popular belief, humans are not the only species to harm the enviornment or other creatures.

  • To be honest, a lot of people have thought about that and say that they never harm animals in any way but to be honest, it's damn nigh impossible not to harm an animal in some indirect manner.

  • XD so we should all live in the open, drink the rain and nibble on grass that's miles away from any cows.
I love how random your journal was, Milleh. *hug*

  • Wow, you lost me there for a moment. I'm just like, "Her...ears are metal? Wait...what?" Then I realized you were talking about jewelry. Odd moment.

True vegans rarely exist. You have to take into account food, clothing, and so many other things, and to be fair it's just not healthy to be a 'true' vegan. Think about it. Want to live in a hut out in the woods? You'll still be affecting the local eco-system, changing the way the animals around you live because most will run when they figure out a human is there, the supplies you use to build your hut would be branches taken from a tree...yeah.

I believe you can be a "true vegan" in just contemporary terms, which is the basic 'not eating any animal products or bi-product' thing. Not everyone has the capability to be the "true vegan" mentioned above.

I know a man who lived in a hut in the woods for three years. He came back and taught at our environmentally-friendly camp one summer, and he was just...a fantastic person. However, he confided in me that it's just not doable, what you're talking about. A human could probably live like that, just...not for very long.

  • You wouldn't be able to live in a hut, either. In order to live in a hut, you'd have to make one. Not only would you be using materials that animals use for their own protection, you'd also be building a hut in THEIR habitat.
