I was a freshman at Neshoba High and I remember a rival school, 'Phillies' as we called them, sent all the students home after a kid brought a homemade bomb to school.
Luckly, the bomb didn't go off, but it started a fire which was quickly put out.

But over here at my school shit happens all the time.
We were put in lock down after the principal caught wind that there was going to be a fight involving guns and knives.
Parents were signing out their kids after the Five hour lock down.

There aren't a lot of guns in Canada, but in my school, people have been stabbed on the property. It's come to a point where it really isn't shocking anymore, which is shocking in itself.

When I was in 8th grade, one of my friends had a cousin who died from suicide. My friend was in complete shock and just went into really heavy depression. He (we'll call him Ben)became extremely withdrawed, and started picking fights with people he used to be friends with (including me). He was, at the time, dating my best friend. One day, my best friend came up to me and let me see a note Ben wrote. In it, he was talking about how much he hated life, and how much he hated her friends. He said that he was going to bring a gun to school and just shoot everyone.

My friend, one of Ben's friends, and I all went to our 8th grade English teacher (because we trusted her the most), and showed her the note. She reported it to the office. Ben was expelled from school, and he moved to a new school in a different state.

It was so messed up. After he was expelled, he blamed me for everything. It was horrible. I didn't want to do that to him. Even though he started hating him, I still loved him like he were my brother. :(

We were in the middle of setting up for a play, when they put us on lockdown. Someone had a bomb in their locker... turned out it was just some stupid kid faking. But we were on lockdown for good three hours, we had police there and everything. Everyone was freaking out, and the people that were taking part in the play [myself included] we were all just sitting in the gym texting and eating.. we weren't even phased. I figured it wasn't real.. since how most of the people at our school would never do that kind of thing.

My cousin was a freshman at VA when the shooting happen and the entire day was in an 'Oh my God' trance.

The closest thing to a bombing at my school was last year this idiot kid called in a fake bomb threat. But he did it using his mom's phone and our school has caller id. He got expelled. But other than that the only violent thing at my school is the weekly fight in the hallway.

Two years ago, when I was in 8th Grade, the entire school went into a lock down because some students had supposedly brought guns and knives to school. The day was a chaos, and when the lock down had been lifted, parents began to sign their children out. The PA System was on literally for the rest of the day, with a constant list of names of students that were getting signed out. People called their parents to pick them up. I have to admit, I did call my mom, but only so she would know what was going on. She works near the school, and since it was lunch time, she was bound to hear from some of the people coming to eat at Zaxby's about what happened. People tend to stretch the truth, so I called her to let her know what actually happened. She told me when I walked over to Zaxby's after school that she had indeed heard some things from people that came, and she was glad that I called. Though, she did end up calling the school to ask what was going on, since she could hardly hear me over the PA System. xD

In the end, it was found out that it was just a silly rumor. Better safe than sorry, though.
