Insanity's Artist, You're right, but I just see a lot of it as a trend. If the definitions of emo, prep, and punk have changed to what a person listens to and what they wear and not what they actually believe in, then I'm wrong.
I think the only thing I disagree with is the "Punk was first the music movement in the 70s. And now punk is viewed as kids that wear converses and listens to Blink 182?" Sure, in the seventies, it was a movement, but as times change, it no longer is. You see, we're in 2009 now and things are different, and therefore some labels or styles are going to be different. Just because they are different and no longer hold the same meaning as they did thirty to forty years ago, doesn't make that meaning wrong, nor does it denounce the old meaning.
Those who say I hate preps and jocks just really get me angry. Seriously, what does sports do thAn Provide fun and exercise? Unless they count rape as a sport, I don't think there's anything to hate about jocks.
Again, another misconception - not all jocks are unintelligent and take steroids.
Those darn eleven year olds who like to lable themselves. There really is no point to call oneself something like that. And what really hacks me off is when everyone who's "emo/goth/punk" just absolutely hates anyone associated with "preps". People have minds, hating is just a backward way of saying your jealous.
