  • For those who have read and are reading this:

Since so many of you took the time to warn me that swearing could get this banned, then I'll edit it. I can only assume that you all want me to stay around or you wouldn't take time from your busy lives to comment on my trivial journal and caution me on the consequences.

Kidding kidding. I'm not that pompous.

But, I will edit it. And a part two is in the works. I'll try to write it with no swear words. However, don't expect it to be any less blunt.

See, I take your viewpoints into consideration. XD

  • I have to say that I agree with you. I'm fourteen years old, and I at least attempt to go up a notch in my writing. Also I have forbade myself from doing any FF at all, and if I recycle an old idea, I manage to change it up a bit (see I Never Knew, I Couldn't Have). Also I have like twenty subscriptions, and that makes me sad. I wish I could find the perfect story.

  • Well aren't you a lovely, polite person.

  • Since you speak of following Mibba's rules while writing in this (i.e. the grammar rules we have), I feel obligated to tell you that swearing in journals is also against the rules.

Also: couldn't you phrase this a bit.. I dunno, nicer? Most writers on here are beginners. They're not going to have the most imaginative plots, the best characters, or absolutely perfect grammar. Even published writers don't always have perfect grammar or amazing plots.

Please note: the following are quotes from the above journal, and if it is considered offensive or against the rules, please know that it is not my opinion, simply something I quoted so I could respond to it easier. Swears have been blanked out for the sake of Mibba's rules.

SET SOME ---- GUIDELINES TO GET RID OF THESE TEENIE BOPPIN ---- --- ------ WRITERS!
Who are you to say that this writer is bad? You mention Twilight. I agree with you - I think it was poorly written. However, others don't. Just because a writer is bad in your opinion, does not mean that the author isn't considered talented in the eyes of someone else. I can assure you that all of the stories on Mibba that you dislike, someone else loves.

AND ANOTHER THING! MAKE YOUR EDITORS ACTUALLY DO THEIR WORK! DELETE THE ------- ALL TOGETHER SO PEOPLE KNOW THEY SUCK! When there is a mistake in a story, more often than not the author will get a message on their "stories" page that says that the story needs to have the mistake edited. They don't delete stories for one little mistake.

  • v I agree with what she said.
    July 28th, 2009 at 11:32pm
  • Are you trying to create the illusion of shouting with all the capitals?

...anyway, I agree with you but I doubt that expressing yourself in a fairly aggressive way is going to do your 'cause' any favours.
    July 28th, 2009 at 11:11pm
  • I would edit this journal. You use of swearing can get you banned from using journals.

I agree that some of the stories can be poorly written, but how about, instead of complaining, you offer advice for the writer on how they can improve? Either that or just don't even read them in the first place. No one is forcing you to.

  • For those of you enjoy a good rant every so often, there will be a part two. I'm already planning it.

  • No offense, Mimi... but the 12-16 age group should know in these day and times about the basic rules of writing. Yes, they are learning, but that doesn't mean the site should lose some of its integrity by letting them butcher the sentence structure in everything they write.
    July 28th, 2009 at 10:43pm
  • Writing in all caps and cursing is against Mibba's rules... Also, this could be stated a lot more maturely.

    However I agree with you.

There are soo many over-used plots out there, as well as stories written simply to get the reader horny. These stories do not make a good read and eighty percent of Mibba is highly annoyed by them.

Stories need to be realistic, and relationships need to develop over time or they're not believable.

Grammar = your best friend. Proper grammar, spelling, and capitalization is a must.

"Well that was one hell of an ice breaker." <-- Amen to that :]

  • We need to start a group on Mibba. Those for the high standards Dujo set out for us to achieve. A band of grammar-followers.
    July 28th, 2009 at 10:36pm
  • Most people on here are between 12-16 like Mimi's buttercup said and most are still learning the proper ways of writing.
Not everyone is going to have the best grammar, that's why we have editors, so they can help them with it.
    July 28th, 2009 at 10:36pm
  • Take into account half the people on here are between the ages of 12-16.
Most of them do this for fun.

    I'm just saying.

  • Hahah. Oh, wow...

While I agree with some of the points you're making, we've heard it before (Which is why Mibba's losing more of its speaking priveleges...>_>).
Also, the way you're going about it is only about 30% effective.
