  • my school- we cant have phones or ipods, even IN our lockers.

if we wear a tank top- at LEAST 2 inches thick

    shorts: past our finger tips

    no hats

no crowns on any clothing (gang symbol) my friend wore this shirt to school, it said, "im a princess" with a crown and she had to put her gym shirt on,

cleavage isnt really a problem at my school, considering its only junior high

hand sanitiser is required to at least be in our lockers

we can have lotion for our gym lockers and perfume at gym is banned but we use it any ways and our girl gym teachers pretty cool about it

no gum- we ALWAYS chew gum though :)

girls: tampons have to be flushed. some girl stuck hers to the wall, it was sickening.

i cant think of anymore rules from my school. i hate my dean she inforces all the new rules at my school, not the school board, and i swear all of our school money goes to her boob jobs and face lifts and lypo- my friend james went up to her, stared at her face and said, it isnt working. it was soooo funny!

  • Bast: Our school has a specific rule that says no cleavage. So when girls are caught with cleavage they are either told to pull up their shirts, or to put a T-shirt on over what they've got. I mean, does anyone really want their teachers looking down their shirts? Gross.

But like asteroid. said, dress codes aren't the end of it. Sure, they suck, but how hard is it to not fuss about something? It isn't like you can't wear your personal favorites after school or on days off. Eight hours of abiding stupid rules, so what?

  • Sorry for posting so much -

    v. That's true, but when the rules are stupid enough that there's really no reason for them to be there, it's another story. It's the principle of the thing. I don't want to be told, "No, you can't wear that," when there's no reason why I shouldn't. If I have to follow rules, I'd like them to be valid, thx.

  • To be honest, the dress code really isn't the end of the world. It's not hard to follow the rules.

  • Shoulders = cleavage, since when? :P And girls show cleavage anyway, because schools can't restrict collar height in a non-loopholed way without coming off as totally unreasonable. "Collarbones must be covered!" - yeah right.

I dunno, I've heard of schools banning all colors but about three or four because all the other ones are "gang colors." I mean, uniforms I understand. Coming up with half-*ssed reasons to ban more and more things is just a stupid idea.

  • My school used to be pretty cool, but that was before our new principal came in.
Before we used to be able to wear whatever as long as no undergarments were showing, and that it was appropriate. We also used to be able to use our phones during lunch, so calling parents was effortless. And did I mention that we can't wear hats anymore either?

But luckily because he's new, the new rules are up for debate.

  • Lol, they banned hand sanitizer from my brother's school. I mean HONESTLY. With all the H1N1 things going on, I thought they'd be wanting us to BATHE in it or something. -sigh-

Honestly though, banning lotion is stupid. They could put some restrictions on it or something -- I don't know what I'm talking about. :] -- but ban it all together? The school boards really have to stop smoking pot during their meetings.

  • Yeah, I think that's stupid.

Even the dress code is sometimes ridiculous, where I live. I mean, I understand not wanting undergarments to show, and such. But "Shoulders must be covered at all times"? What is this, the 1800s? What are they afraid of? People coming to school with no shirts? That girls will get raped because guys OBVIOUSLY are extremely turned on by girls' naked shoulders?!
