Everyone's pretty different. Some people will spend all day on the internet and watching TV, while others participate in countless sports and activities. Here, you can start working when you're 14, but most places won't hire you until you're 16. High school goes until you're 18. A lot of people pick up part-time jobs when they're in high school. In my area, most people either go to a four year college or to a two year community college upon graduating. Some people go straight into the workforce, but this is less common. In cities, college attendance rates are much lower.
We are not all fat. Many people, including myself, eat fast food often. But I also know tons of people who refuse to eat fast food at all. I'm not overweight, and when I walk around on a typical day, the majority of the people I pass are not overweight. Generally cities have more of an obesity problem, and certain parts of the country have more obesity than others.
In Pennsylvania we all speak English, but there are tons of bilingual people. There are lots of Spanish-speakers and many Asians. Since I live in the suburbs, I don't live in the most diverse place in the world, but our country as a whole is very diverse. Drive into the city and it is far more multicultural.
As a whole, I guess America is much more conservative than many other countries in the world, politically. We are especially sensitive about communism and socialism. Many people interchange the two words. We are very big on capitalism, democracy, and free markets. Many European countries are socialist and/or find socialism very acceptable; you won't encounter the same attitude in America. We also have a drinking age of 21, which in my eyes is a good thing, but I know it is different from many other countries. Still, there is definitely a strong mix of liberals and conservatives among us. And just because we're more right-wing doesn't mean we're racist though. Sure, every now and then there are racist people, but it's certainly not the norm. Most people look down upon any kind of prejudice, be it sexism, racism, homophobia, religious prejudice, etc. I know and am friends with plenty of people who aren't white. I also have gay friends, tons of Jewish friends, etc. I personally don't have any close friends who practice Islam, but I have Muslim acquaintances. Admittedly prejudice against Muslims and Arabs has increased in the last few years, but this is still not at all the norm.
