There's so many gaunt models and eating disorders that girls need positive role models. I agree the terms annoying because the message should be 'be yourself' but because of the rapidly rising percentage of under eighteen eating disorders any role model that isn't a size 0 would be nice.February 26th, 2010 at 01:23am

When I see the term "real woman" in magazines and other places, it's usually not to speak on only plus-size women or averaged-sized women. It's to show that ALL body-types are real woman. We often see "regular" sized or plus-sized women in those magazines, simply because they're the ones that are least represented in media.
Have you seen the Dove campaign for positive body image? They feature ads filled with "real women" and they include women of all sizes. And that's what is meant by real women. Woman of all shapes and sizes, not just thin women or plus-sized women, or curvy woman of athletic women, but ALL healthy women.February 26th, 2010 at 01:01am -
Yeah, we all are real women...
and you have to think, most of those are airbrushed to look perfect.February 26th, 2010 at 12:47am -
I think women should just be at a healthy weight and have their body fat in the healthy rage of 15 - 25%. This could be a size 2 for some, and a size 10 for others.February 26th, 2010 at 12:42am

And "plus-size" models usually wear a size 8-10. It's ridiculous.
