Definately. 2 people from my school commited suicide and I always think if I could have done something I would have.

a couple weeks ago, one of my friends (on facebook) who i'm not particularly close with put up lyrics to a song (that i didn't recognize) about committing suicide. not knowing that they were just lyrics, and not having her number myself, i called my best friend who is closer to her than i am and had her call her. it was a complete relief knowing that she wasn't doing anything crazy, but for the ten minutes i spent staring at the screen, i was freaking out. it's definitely important to make sure your friends know how much you really care. even if you aren't that close. i still don't know what i would have done if those lyrics were her own words.

yeah you should go and help him. if you get in trouble for ignoring your driving restrictions just point out to them that you did that to save a life. If i was in that position, i wouldnt care if i get into trouble for it, i would just try to help him.

I would help him, and that's terrible his "friends" are asking for their stuff back.

A friend of mine kinda did the same thing. We would be talking on MSN and if we were to be talking about a certain person he would tell me that he was thinking of killing himself and often log off. 3 times I convinced him not to do it. Quite frankly, I think he was doing it to get attention. -.-" But yeah, I would help out a friend.

White Lightning. We both originally thought that he was seeking attention too and I severely hope he is. However he's not in a good place, is homeless, and after hearing about the message I just found out he left his brother, which he wouldn't do unless something was really wrong, it scares me that he won't be coming back or that he isn't planning on it at least

PeacemakerGaga I'm glad you see the world how I do, I believe that everyone deserves a chance to be happy, and how can they have that chance if they are depressed and no one tries to help them. I want to help him so much, but his phone is now dead so we can't ring him and talk him out of it or anything. I don't think I can sleep, I'm just awake wishing, hoping everything will be alright.

We've told his mum and shes gone to search and I think is going to ring the police, it's just difficult not being able to do anything

I would help a friend; I’ve talked strangers out of it on the internet before.

But the fact that he was posting what he was doing every 30 minutes on Facebook just says that he’s seeking attention, and more then likely is not going to kill himself.

I would. Everyone needs someone to care enough to well, not let them kill themselves in this case (if that even makes sense...). My best friend was suicidal too. She gave me this journal with dreadful suicidal notes in it and blood-soaked pages. I kinda helped her through it and I'm sure even if i didnt have her as a bestfriend i still wouldve tried to help her. But well, this is an extreme case and YES! You're the only one that cares enough to save a life! Why wouldn't you try? What's there to lose? Its a LIFE thats on the line here! Even if you dont even know the person, its still a life that deserves a chance!
