To learn without being taught. - Comments

  • It is called Change of Heart and it is by Jodi Picoult. As soon as I finished reading it, I wanted to pick it up and read it all over again, but intead I told my mom to read it :) It's written from many different perspectives, except for the protagonist's. They all weave together to create a really interesting and emotional story that will make you question everything you believe about your religion, your morals, and your thoughts about humanity. Or at least that's what it did for me. I only wish I would of slowed down and savored it a little bit more.

  • Firstly, I must thank you. I'm glad you enjoyed it :)

Might I ask which book you are talking about? It seems really interesting and sounds like a very good! I didn't actually see things in the light that "we are all more alike that we like to believe" but you definitely raise a good point and I do agree.

  • I like this :) It's definitely true - you never know what will happen in your life, or how you'll react to things until it actually happens to you. You can think you'll never cheat, you can think you'll never get an abortion, you can think that you'll never get raped because you'll never put yourself in that position - but you don't actually know anything until it happens to you.

I read a book recently, and in it a catholic priest was talking to a convicted murderer. The priest asked the murderer why he did it, and the murderer replied with "What would make you do it?" That book really got me thinking. We're all more alike than we like to believe.
