my parents are the same way.
And it took me a long while but...I finally understand why they said no.
Think about it, when you go to places, like a doctors office, or any kind of office, or places like that, do you see people with facial piercings? Nope!
I think it looks cool but it shows alot about who the person is.
Yeah, like I said, it looks cool, but extremely gross at the same time.
Your thing says that your only 14!
A 14 year old with a hole in her face?
    With a facial piercing!
Yeah, it'll look cool to you and your friends, but to adults and teachers, it looks gross and disrespectful.
You probly won't get a job with that thing in your face.
Maybe at a tattoo and piercing place, but really...they don't make much money.

I'm not trying to e rude or mean, I'm just trying to get you to see it from an other point of view.

But to answer your question... Prove to them that you can truly take care of it nd that you won't regret it.

    Good luck.

I asked permission to get my tongue pierced... and basically my argument was this "A piercing can close..... but a tattoo is pretty much forever..... which would you rather me get...??"

    and I got her agreement....

I want my septum pierced as well. My mom's being a female dog about the whole thing. (Same for guaging my ears, but that's another story).
I'm honestly scared to ask her, considering she wouldn't let me get my 2nd earring holes done until I was 16 :/

    Good luck to you, though(:

I waited until I was 18 to get anything pierced, besides my ears.

it's funny that i saw this because my best friend just got a piercing last weekend. only it was her belly button but they're both piercings. anyway, it took a while for her parents to finally say yes but they let her even though they weren't to crazy about it. just try to prove your point to them and maybe they will say yes after giving it sometime because you still have about 2 more months. Good luck!

Honestly, I'm sure your parents already have their minds made up about this, since they hate them to begin with.

BUT, I suppose your one chance at convincing them otherwise would have to be showing them that you could take care of it, no matter what happens. Do your research, so you know exactly what to do should it ever get infected or torn, and how you're supposed to clean it and keep it healthy to prevent anything bad from happening to it. Think of it like...a new puppy. Show your parents you can take care of it daily, and that you see it as a serious responsibility, and maybe they'll see that in you to.

If they still say no, respect their wishes and wait until you're eighteen. Trust me, getting that kind of freedom...it's worth it. Now that I'm an adult and out of the house, I'm free to do what I want with my body and I wouldn't trade that kind of freedom for anything. (For what it's worth, though, I was always respectful of my parents' wishes about body mods when I was younger, which they took as a sign of maturity, so by the time I was like sixteen they'd gone from "NO MODS!" to "Well, if you want tattoos or something that's fine, but one of us should be there when you get it, at least...") So if they do say no, be respectful about it. It can go a long way.

(I have mine pierced, and have had it done for almost two years, now. It didn't hurt to have done, and was only a little sore for a few days afterward. But then, I also have an amazing piercer. Good luck!)

I got my septum pierced. It hurt a -little- but not bad at all. Piercings are always just a quick little pain though, sometimes a little afterwards... But it was just like getting your ears pierced for me, like gunner.

I had been dying to get my septum pierced two years ago. So I did, against my parents will...
I gotta admit, it was cool and stuff, but I got bored with it. Sure, I had it in for months but mostly kept it up so nobody would see it because my friends were disgusted by it... To me, it was a fashion that went by.

Nonetheless, if you want it and your parents agree, do it. I felt no pain at all, ears hurt more. The person doing it just sprays a thing up your nose and voila, its finished, you're just going to feel two tears running down your cheeks, its the usual repsonse.

    :)
if you got any more questions, feel free to ask
