More Graphics and Story Cliches - Comments

  • Your blending is awesome, just try to erase textures over their faces because it looks messy.

    *cough* I'm a dancer...

  • Just came over to say that I love your graphics, especially the banners. :)

And for the story thing, I wouldn't find it so cliche if they actually went into detail about stuff like that. Like in most stories I attempt to read, the main character always has this artsy quality, but they never do anything with it. I mean, I'd like to read a story where they are actually doing their hobby for more than one chapter. Or at least, that's what I see most of the time.

  • v Cool deal I'll get to working on them.

  • Oh, and I'd like a banner. :D I swear I'll use it and everything.

    Banner
Story title. Down the Rabbit Hole
    Username. No.
Size. Something like that first banner's size, preferably.
    Quote. No quote.
Pictures. I've got two main characters I want in the banner so I'll just give you links to galleries so you can pick whatever picture works for you. http://www.isabelle-fuhrman.com/gallery/index.php?cat=7 and http://www.rachellelefevre.us/pictures/index.php?cat=4
Other. The redhead is searching for her sister, who is the black haired girl. If you could do something where the black haired girl is somehow in the background or has some air about her like she's missing, that would be great. If you can't, don't worry about it. It sounds pretty difficult to me, so I understand if you can't. Otherwise, thanks. :D

And I'd like a sig if I could.

    Signature
Quote. Sorry, can't talk now. I'm lost in Wonderland.

Thanks in advance for whatever you can do. :D

    Size: 100x100
    Other: Quote saying "Antony<3"

Picture: Johnny Depp as Sweeney Todd
    Size: 100x100
    Other: Quote: "my friends."

    Thanks :D

  • v I am trying to also do so. I read so much that I know what I've seen too much and I know what I don't like so I make sure to stay away from it. But then I am also a bit too safe as a writer so that is something I feel will improve as I age. A writer is in a way like a bottle of wine, they better with age.

  • Your graphics are just lovely :) I know what you mean about the stories. I think the only way to fix it is when the author grows as a writer & breaks from the cliche mold. Some people do it just for the fans so they make crybaby b*tchy scene main girls that everyone loves. I myself am improving in breaking away from the clicheness.

  • I say the main girl shouldn't be into anything. o.o Maybe she could just be one of those people who goes about, not knowing what to do with her life. Then, she can just stumble upon McDonalds, one day, and really love it there, so she ends up as a cashier, or something. xD Sounds good to me!

But, yeah - the depression, unhappy thing is way too common. -.-
I think I use that trick, too, but in witty ways! -nods- Mhm. Because... who gets kidnapped any more? Or stalked? o.o Unless you're a celeb, already. v.v'

  • v Yeah I do see where people come with that. I would really like to see someone break the mold. Make a character that is a total philatelist and prove it is not that awful.

  • I've noticed those trends, too, in stories. With online stories it seems that everyone is always depressed or has something really bad going on in their lives. My friend was just complaining about that the other day, too. I guess I don't really notice because if the story seems like it's going that way even in the summary, I don't bother to read any of it.

I've noticed in real books and online stories, a lot of times the female main character is also in love with reading or writing. They always have to be artsy in some way or another, I guess. I suppose no one wants to read about stamp collecting or something like that. It's just not as fun or as 'look at me, look at me' ish, if you know what I mean.
