I hate this place... How can people be so uncaring? [Gay pride ftw] - Comments

  • Is that what this whole purple thing is about? O.0 I haven't heard anything about it; only that my favorite website has gone purple. I wondered why.

...I'm wearing purple today. Randomly. Ha! Well, it's for a good cause! I'm proud. =3

    Thanks for the info!

  • 1. I'm not sympathetic for suicide. It's selfish. People unwillingly lose their lives, and you want to waste yours? Selfish. The only people who commit suicide are the submissive and weak minded. I don't think a color is going to do much for the cause.
    2. I didn't even know about it until Computer Literacy class, lol.
    3. No, then again, it's against school rules...
    4. Some poker game on late night television, -_-

  • 1. Personally, I usually lose respect for those who commit suicide. I mean, if I can still keep living (trust me I have a lot of problems) then so should everyone else. Or maybe I'm just self-centered that way???
However, on the note of showing support for the people who were/are bullied, I did participate in this event. I don't believe anyone should be bullied for being a human.

    2. Yes, I did, but only my socks. I don't own anything else that was purple.

    3. Yes. Many, actually.

    4. The television echoing from the other room.

  • 1. It makes me sad. Hearing about suicide always makes me sad.
    2. I was in bed all day, so no.
    3. I don't go to school. But I doubt they did. The school I went to was highly homophobic.
    4. I'm watching a show on Animal Planet.

  • kyrbz I agree with you. Actually, if these people weren't gay, I bet you no one would even stand up for them. But of course, because they're gay, everyone stands up for it. It's really sad that the only bullying that catches people's eyes is when only gays being bullied. What's even sadder? Gays who are bullied make up a small percent of the total number of people who are bullied. It really depresses me. And like you said, wearing a color doesn't solve an issue. Especially is it's an issue about selectively involved people.

  • hannahsmitesmeese. - if a straight person went around saying they had "Straight pride" they'd be seen as obnoxious.

HorrificllyDelicious - Photos of girls naked and having sex with people get sent around all the time, where's the sympathy for that? A photo of a girl naked that she sent in confidence to her boyfriend managed to find its way around the school, as with a video of another guy's girlfriend masturbating. It happens. Get over it, they did.

  • HE SHOULD HAVE NEVER BEEN FXCKING ANOTHER DUDE.

    ahem. It's against nature.

But the friend didn't have the right to do that to him, I agree. I heard about that on the radio

  • You know what I don't understand? Why is it that it is only GAYS WHO KILLED THEMSELVES that everyone is standing up for? If we're going to sympathize, then we should do it FOR ALL WHO KILL THEMSELVES. Suicide is a heavy, depressing, serious thing and it's sad for us to stand up for a select few who are bullied. What about those who've been bullied all their life? What about those who are also bullied by their parents? And their friends? What about those who killed who were bullied and also raped or anything other horrific thing? And what about those who are bullied online as well? It's not just gays, and it isn't only gays that we need to stand up for. Everyone needs to open their eyes and realize that.

    1. I agree with kyrbz. and hannahmitesmeese. Suicide is never the answer, and when you have those who care about you around you yet you still do it, it's selfish. Sad, but selfish. And I didn't know about this, let alone my entire school, so this purple day thing didn't go really far in giving awareness.
    2. I did, by accident. I wore my sweatshirt.
    3. Not a single person. Like I said, no one knew about it.
    4. Silence.

  • 1. Nobody should be picked on. Not just gay people.
    2. No.
    3. No.
    4. Against my will, John Mayer.

  • Suicide is selfish, but one of those kids did it because a video of him f*cking another dude got all around the internet because his room mate put a camera in their dorm.
Is that fair? What would you do? How would you feel?
    Just my opinions.

  • 1. They should just grow a pair of balls. Okay, to put it nicely, I think the worst thing a person can do, is kill themselves. I wish people would have the sense to think "oh hey! this won't last forever!" Suicide is just as bad as murder in my book. And (oh hey I'm going to look like an ass here.) about the whole gay rights thing. Pft. Why do gays have to have "pride" or "rights"? Why can't they just be normal people. I don't have pride for being straight. And I know it's not just them. I mean there are a plenty of ignorant people out there. But still.
    2. Lol. No.
    3. I didn't pay attention at all. But my biffleee took a vow of silence for bullied kids in general yesterday.
    4. Nothing at the moment.

  • 1. I think suicide is stupid. Even if you don't support gays, you should support humanity and the fact that we do this to these people.
    2. I did.
    3. Yes. But some of the gay kids didn't because they don't support gays. WTF?
    4. TV in the background and the obnoxious *pop* of Facebook chat.

  • I dont think their dirt, but just hella weak. No offense. But everyone has problems, and if you can't handle it, you're are a coward. Everyone gets messed with, not just gay guys.

And people are just homophobic because the bible says in proverbs that, "Gay people are an abomination and will have their card in the lake of fire."

^.With that shxt written in the bible, I wouldn't dare be gay. Not only that, but they killed themselves. You automatically go to hell when u do that. I AM NOT saying they are going to hell, but damn, look at the rules they just broke? Yeeeah.

That's why christians don't support this all the way.

I still wore purple though, because no matter if they were gay or not, nobody deserves to be treated like that.

  • 1. I just find suicide selfish, period, and it's always been hard for me to hold any respect for anybody who commits suicide. Yeah it's a great opportunity and all, but we should be doing more than just wearing purple, seriously. At least make the day a little more worth participating in, unless you're going around boasting about it, most everyone who doesn't know is just going to think you're wearing purple. Doing a great job raising awareness, hey?
    2. Nope, I actually don't own any purple.
    3. I overheard one person talking about it. That's it.
    4. The girl sitting next to me swear about her computer.
