It's not like things like this don't happen... look at Libya and Rwanda.
They may be on a smaller scale, but we shouldn't forget about those innocent people who lost their lives because of genocide as well.
They cannot, history could not be deleted so easily. Especially not after 66 years. It's too soon.
The problem is that forgetting is a process. It starts with small voices of denial, of incorrect facts. People hear it. They don't believe it, of course, but they hear it- and as the time pass, the idea doesn't sound so absurd. That is what, I believe i-am-waht-i-am is trying to say. Don't allow this to start. Rise against it. So many people can die for nothing. Let it be their memory that prevents such wrongness from ever occurring again.
xBecomingxNumbx-> you are right. It is not a subject one can speak so freely of. It's horrible. And you are right that we will not be able to forget. But what about the next generation? If you choose not to bring up the subject because it's uncomfortable to speak about, why would your children? You will not forget, but they will never remember.
JustALittleGirl-> here you are wrong. Remembering does help to prevent it. Any leader needs followers. He might be crazy (and that's human kind) but the rest- if they only remember- will not follow him. The world will not be quiet. We can't lose hope and then be shocked it did happen again. It's within our power to prevent it.
i-am-what-i-am-> amazing. You expressed such an important subject in a beautiful way. Great writing.
