  • I used to work for several years in Texarkana, it's got quite an interesting history.....I know people who were around when 'the Spring Lake Phantom' was terrorizing the town....But the Hotel Grim, well, that part was fiction....The Town that Dreaded Sundown was only based on the truth, as opposed to a documentary. One older lady I used to work with, still living, was actually interviewed for a newspaper at the time, as she was in her late teens and friends with several victims. Texarkana has some really great historical buildings.
Camden, Magnolia, and El Dorado are also filled with beautiful historical buildings. Especially Camden and El Dorado. And Magnolia is absolutely filled with history. One of my favorite things about Magnolia is that there is still an office in the downtown area that has an old timey (people really used to do this) parking lot on TOP of the building itself.
And Nashville or near Nashville, there is a drive in movie theater that is open in the summer on Friday and Saturday nights.
I guess this should have been a message instead of a comment. Sorry! Message me if you wanna know anything about this part of the country that you haven't already heard about. Lots of neat places here. Be glad to fill you in. You SHOULD experience the history around here.
