It's a satirical message not actually meant to say "Oh people who are depressed and want to commit suicide are really just lazy and don't do anything."
It's not meant to be taken quite so literally.

I believe that the person who wrote that..message?...has never experienced hardcore depression the likes of committing suicide and therefore cannot relate nor understand fully how people are feeling when they get that low.
However, I don't believe it was meant to offend anyone, I think it just shows that there are seriously people out there who do not understand how depressed another person can actually get...
To them it's like "well, if they can manage their depression well enough to actually plan their death and go through all the trouble to carry it out, why can't they just manage their depression enough to go to work and make their life better?"
They don't see how dark of a place the depressed person is in...they don't see how plotting/causing their own death is the only option that can be seen as a solution to their problems. All they see is that, this person claims to have no drive in life and yet will plan for months their own death.
So, as wrong and misguided as the post is....I do believe it to be totally innocent and a product of inexperience with depression.

v. While I understand where you're coming from, I gave in and looked up the person who said it. It's a 47-year-old Irish author, I don't think she's really the sort of person to be satirising such a serious subject on Tumblr. Even if it is satirical, I'm still offended. Also, I didn't think it meant that anyway. I was referring to the fact that planning your own suicide is not "getting over the worst".
