480 Crunches A Day/ Questions - Comments

  • I do swim. Everyday during the summer and I work out on a machine everyday. I bench almost 130 lbs. My arms and legs are in great shape and its just my stomach. I do eat healthy. I eat salads everyday, i drink tea, water[no soda], i dont eat a lot of junk. I don't pig out or anything. Plus if all you eat is salads, yeah you will lose weight but when you go back to eating what you normally do [with the same exercise you've been doing] you will gain every ounce back.

& yes crunches are slow at working but very benifical if you keep working at it.
Example: by doing that, I lost a few pounds. I dont really like going by body weight because i work out, so of course im going to weigh more- muscle weighs more then fat. I try to go by what my body looks like, I pretty much work at it and work at it until I am happy with what I see in the mirror.

  • Crunches alone won't slim you down. You need to actually exercise.

  • You can't spot reduce fat on your body. Crunches will only build muscle (very slowly might I add) and if you have a layer of fat over them no one is going to see. You have to be a certain percent of body fat before abs show through. In order to lose weight you need aerobic exercise like running or dancing or swimming. When our bodies lose fat it doesn't matter what muscles we work out because just like it stores fat randomly it will lose fat randomly. That's why some people seem to only gain in one place perhaps the thighs and stomach then when they lose it seems like they are losing fat in all the wrong places perhaps the boobs or ass. Stick to areobic exercise with mild strength training and over time you will lose fat from all the areas you desire but you can't tell your body where to lose first.

Also you don't look fat you like me just don't have a petite frame.

  • I can totally get behind that. :) However, I have to warn you without the proper diet all those crunches won't help you to much. You should try running. I love running. Plus It's probably the best exercise out their. I looked at your picture. I don't think your fat.

  • I support you :) People have called me fat, but I love my fat and I love fatty patties like myself. Although, I do need to tone-up.

  • No.... that's not bad at all. Unfortunately, unless you're REALLY sweating when you do crunches, it's not going to slim you down... only aerobic exercise can do that. Those crunches might tone part of your stomach, though, but you should still vary the exercises even then.
    I wish you luck. :)
