It Seems That Her Acceptance Has Diminished. - Comments

  • V She doesn't necessarily boss me around though. She has her moments, but they're very limited. Mostly because bossing me around doesn't always work on me.

The subject of me dating is the problem, since my older sister screwed up royally and she believes that I'm about to walk in her footsteps. At least that was always the problem before I spoke to her about things. I'm not sure if that came up again. I'm not sure if maybe my step father said something.

  • She's just scared of you growing up and is going to miss bossing you around.

  • I'll try that, but knowing my mom, she's a bit stubborn.
It'll take a lot to get an answer out of her.

And thanks for the help :)

  • I see, that does pose a problem. Mybe the next time you are able to leave you could ask around or something. Or maybe tell her you wish to have a heart to heart conversation on why she doesn't want you around him. Just so you can understand. Maybe she'll be okay with that.

  • V No, it isn't legal to do that here. But, she is my mother and he is working for my step father, so if she says "Stay inside," I'm supposed to listen. I guess.
And I don't mind her telling me to stay away (actually I do mind, but just not so much that I go crazy about it), but I want to know the 'why' of it, before I decide whether or not I should really listen to her.

  • Is it legal in Aruba to restrict someone from going outside? Where I live you could be arrested for imprisonment. Whatever her issue is with him it sounds like you're happy with him so I wouldn't give up.
