I agree with all of you. It's pretty pathetic IMO.

Frankly Mr. Shankly God, really? Then they must be teaching us some bullshit, because I never actually looked it up, but that's what we were told in our religion class -.- clearly if that is the case of them being 'evil' then the pope has got some hypocrisy to solve!

I've only ever heard the pope B.S about how every other religion on earth is the work of the devil. I don't even believe the devil exists, so I must be some ignorant work of the devil.

    ________

Tygra's Wife Oracle Hehe, I'm always telling my friends I love them as well (and the ones who aren't so ignorant about LGBT play along, and we annoy everyone else :D
    _______

Airi-chan But that's where everyone is wrong, you can't use religion to justify your actions and such. I'm not Anti-Christian, but I definitely do find lots of holes in the Bible and it's teaching, especially most from the Old Testament. Seeing as I'm neither LGBT or Christian, I have been told by one of my religious friend that because I don't believe in Christ I will go straight to hell, and my religion (panentheist Hinduism) means I'm worshipping the devil.

It's just this intolerance I hate when it comes to religion, so I just ignore everything religion-related and keep my own opinions to myself, however everyone else seems to have trouble with that.

I will be ignoring these Homophobics now, definitely not worth it.
    _______

Love me Tender I would do the same if it were my cousin as well, clearly this world is in need of desperate tolerance.

Steve is a winner I love it, I'll be saying it from now on as well :D

Religion doesn't really teach hatred towards homosexuals. People use religion to justify their hatred because they have nothing else to justify it with but using scriptures in the Bible.

Most of these people were raised to think lowly of homosexuals, because their parents most likely do. And for a lot of people, it's hard for them to adjust to the idea that times are changing and they may just be wrong about us being wrong and disgusting. It's not right and it doesn't justify the way they treat others based on sexual orientation, but it's usually the reason behind people's hatred for us.

I hear things like this on a daily basis. I've learned to ignore them and not respond to them.

Hmmm I feel the same way as you do because I was friends with the LGBT community in high school, still am actually. xD But I also don't really go for girls, though it may seem like I do just because I say, "I love you." to some of my best girl friends.

Last time I heard the Pope said that he didn't hate gays, he just believed that they were inherantly evil.

I was talking to my mom's boss the other day, and he said that he published a paper once stating that we definitely should try to cure homosexuality, because if we can cure homosexuality, then we can cure heterosexuality, and wipe sex out of existance. Best conversation ever?

I agree with you, and in truth it's the straight people trying to convert us, not the other way around.
It's not like LGBT members hold rallies, and with slogans like 'Pray the straight away', or come up with treatment plans to nip heterosexuality in the bud.
    It's ignorant and it's paranoid.

People are afraid what of they can't understand or explain. That's the only reason I can think of as to why some people are homophobic. I usually don't respond to them because they start to feel inferior when they don't get the response they want. If someone were to directly make comments toward my cousin who is gay then I would lash out pretty harshly. It wouldn't be a nice sight.
