AMERICA LOL. What they talk about in American History Classes... Commentswap/Questions - Comments

  • History is based on point of view. Each country has its own values, culture, etc, especially in times of war.

  • Germany teaches WWI and WWII the same way we do, actually : )

    1. Yep : )
    2. I have no idea who he is XD Don't kill me.
    3. Really only funny because of all the idiots in my class who don't know anything about the rest of the world and are complete bigots -.- You'd think because it's an advanced class, they'd be a little smarter. My actual history class, like how my teacher teaches, is actually enjoyable.

  • 1. I DO
    2. I've heard of him but I don't think I've heard him.
    3. Yes, o'lordy. I live in the South and the way we teach the Civil War is crazy. My teacher was like:

  • 1. Alas, I regret lots. But I pretend I don't and then it's all good! :D
    2. I think I like him, but I can't remember any of his songs.
    3. Oh my goodness yes. I would LOVE to get a hold of a history book from another country, especially if it covered some of the same events we learned about. Like seriously. I want to read the other side of the American Revolution. Or whatever. (It's summer, I can't remember anything right now)

  • Emily, now now, just because me and my silly self love to email still doesn't make me old school. It makes me retro ;] I love how you have to tell me you won't take a bath with me. You obviously sussed out my sublibinal messaging through telling you about Churchy and Roosey.

  • Lmao, thank you. I agree, and looking at things from another perspective is simpler. I mean, you can probably give me a topic of interest regarding politics and what the government is doing and tell you what people from the other side feel about it. I don't really 'love' America because I don't really believe or fully understand nationalism, but I do believe America is powerful and has a lot of influence, and that many Americans take advantage of that. They put themselves in places where they shouldn't be, like a certain something they're doing right now.

  • Cinderella: You might just be the most even tempered person that I've ever talked to on here. I'm totally just blown away for some reason. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE AMERICA. Like dude we live in one of the best countries around, but yeah sometimes I feel like we stick our buisness were our buisness should not be. THATSWHATSHESAID.

JustALittleGirl: I'M GLAD YOU ENJOYED IT.

  • Alexander: Yes YOU SHOULD REGRET NOTHING! BRAVO.

Laura: THEY TOOK BATHS TOGETHER? Dude okay that is just weird. I would never take a bath with you Laura, sorry deary. I mean I learned about the dictators but we learned about how America was better and how we took them down. Aha! Yes America is basass like that! I LOVE BRITAINS GOT TALENT! I watch it a lot. Ps--it's not oldschool, you actually still EMAIL.

DarkestStorm: True, I'm also sorry that you have regrets and that you don't understand how amazing Jack Johnson is.

    Tygra: I'm glad we agree.

  • MICHAEL MCINTYRE!
He made this journal because he's just so bloody awesome and cheaa....x)
    August 8th, 2011 at 05:08pm
  • 1. Yes.
    2. Heard of him, but that's it, so not really.
    3. Yeah, a little. Growing up with parents who immigrated here in the mid-late 90's, I always felt a bit conflicted with nationalism before recently deciding that I devote myself to no one country. Without feeling nationalism, it ultimately makes things incredibly simple to put in perspective. I often find myself rolling my eyes at virtually everything said on America's behalf if I don't agree with it.

  • You know it's illegal to call your son adolf in Germany? HAHA I hope that's true.

Oh hello biased learning of History. Wanna know the weirdest thing I ever learned? That Churchill took baths with Roosevelt, they were THAT tight. I always found that rather hilarious. MAN you're missing out not learning all about the badass dictators from across the world. I did the American West though, which is awkward because it made all white Americans out to be barbaric muderers.... AWKWARD!

I feel happy that you put Michael Mcintyre from Britain's Got Talent (we started that boyo :P) as a GIF, very happy.

1: OF COURSE I REGRET NOTHING.
2: Yeah, but that's old school now ;]
    3: hilarious :D
