Ugh, why can't people just stop labeling me? - Comments

  • Ignore it(: Label-ers are lame. (wait....is that labeling? hah oh well ) You can't just decide someone besides yourself is an emo, or goth, or prep, slut, or whatever. But I guess you kind of cant help it. Before we get to know someone I guess it comes naturally. Anyways yeah, ignore it buddy (:

  • We've all been judged. It's a part of life. You're judged on how you dress because it's how you choose to represent yourself and, yes, it does reflect (to an extent) on your personality. You're judged on how you act, react, and interact. You're judged on every portrayal of yourself, with words, actions, movements, art, whatever. And that will never change.

The best you can do is to not care so much, because getting angry about it is a waste of energy. The fact of the matter is, there's probably some facet upon which you judge others too. I know there are things I judge people on before knowing them. It doesn't make me a b-tch. It makes me a human being who analyzes perception and turns it into opinion. It happens.

  • The younger (preteens) generations are always trying to mimic the older generation when it comes to being emo, scene, and goth. I'm glad I never got into that fad, though I was friends with a lot of hard core emoes and goths. :3 So, I agree with you.

  • It's annoying to me when I see those usernames (not just on mibba) that are like, "emogurl389" or something that kills my brain cells.

  • I hate it when the 7-9 and 11-12 graders label me as a sports oriented, athletic, ignorant, partying f*ck but I hear it every day. None of them realize I write, aspire to be a photographer, and I'm actually quite articulate and I'm enrolled in Pre-AP classes and I do well in all of my courses.

But we're always going to get judged regardless of what we do. You calling yourself emo or half emo or whatever is only encouraging kiddos to judge you, though.

  • To me its so annoying when people go all 'I wanna be scene' or 'I wanna be emo' like really? Stfu and gtfo. NEVER judge. Cause that sweet little girl can be a h* or the chick with the tats can be the smartest person.

  • I also dislike when people judge other people without knowing the -full- story about what's going on in that persons life, or even judge someone based on how they look. Like someone I know said something happened to him when he started high school ((he's a senior now)).

He wore a coat that his father gave to him, in eighth grade ((it was his father's, so it was big on him, he grew into it)) before he died and the coat wasn't the -best- looking thing, but it's not like it's an eyesore.

He complimented someone, saying their skirt looked nice and she said: "Oh, yeah, thanks. ...I still see you're wearing that jacket... still." With some disdainful attitude.

    It depressed him so much.

And it made me kind of sick, it's like. Don't judge people unless you know the whole story, heck, don't judge people in general about anything: how they are, what they do, unless you know the full story and they're sincerely a bad person. Which is 99.9% of the time, never the case.

    /mini rant.
