Is it just me, or... - Comments

  • My most recently finished story (I think) is something I wrote when I was 13 and then took through a major overhaul. It's still not my best work, but I'm still kind of proud of it because it was the first story I ever finished.

I wasn't so much nostalgic as disgusted with how bad a writer I was. I was freakishly annoying when I was 13 anyway and I think that had something to do with it.

  • @WalkingOnBrokenGlass hahah I am the exact same way. Sadly I have have had 3 laptops since I was 11, so a lot of my horrrible stories are on the first one, but recently I was able to get that computer running and read some of them... and then I had to question why I ever thought those plots were a good idea haha. I had posted some of the terrible ones on Quizilla back then, which I ended up deleting along with my original quizilla account (I had made a new one) because they were so godawful. I really wish I had kept them now though just to see how bad they were haha.

  • I'm seriously glad to see I'm not the only one hahah. I try to explain this to people all the time and they never get it.

@impish unicycle I do the exact same thing, some parts I am like "This plot is actually pretty cool, how did I come up with something this crazy? Why did I never post this?" then two words later I am reminded when I see how horrible it really is haha. My stories were really terrible. Usually I reread them for kicks.

@LaHottness011 I have done the same thing, some of my stories I rewrote several times using an idea I had from an old story. I am actually thinking about rewriting one of my reallly old ones because the plot is pretty crazy/over the top but if I evened it out, then maybe it'd be okay. And it really is awesome to see how things have evolved.

@Basket Case hahah I can totally understand that. Seeing the grammar in my old stories literally makes me wince and I almost want to break out a pencil and fix it. But it's so horrible that I don't think I could fix them or that it would be worth it haha. And my stories weren't usually too bad xD Like I always made my characters be like 19 or 20 something, but they were still cliche' and super unrealistic xD What is the opposites attract one?

  • I still have all of my stuff saved on my computer, but it's also still on Quizilla..
some of it, I'm like why did I write this?...
And I found my first story the other day, and I was like wtf?

  • I still have one posted on another site. The plot isn't that bad, as it's just a oneshot. But my grammar is atrocious. >.>

Another one I have is this "opposites attract" type thing. I can't say my fanfics were ever the "I'M THIRTEEN AND GERARD WAY IS MAH BOYFRIEND OMG" type thing. xD

  • Haha I read my old stories all the time :3
Sometimes I even sorta re-vamp them and write a new story based on the same-ish idea.
But, I never wrote fanfic, so I've never had the over-the-top storylines like that.
Back then I mostly wrote fantasy.
And now I write real drama stuff.
It's nice to see how my writing has evolved c:

  • Oh yeah. I know the feeling. But whenever I read them, I bang my head against the wall screaming: 'WHAT THE HELL WAS I THINKING?!"

I also have that feeling about my art. I was so bad back then. XD
