I will never understand why a parent would kid their own child out. That is just plain cruel, especially if you have no idea what it is like living on your own. I hope my parents don't do that me.

2 weeks after i turned 18 my parents kicked me out. I was lucky enough that my boyfriend and I were already going to move in together, so I had that. But it deffinatly isn't easy living on your own. Money deffinatly doesn't go as far as people think, but it does get easier. You'll get into a rythem and it'll get easier. If you need anyone to talk to I'm on here most of the time haha. This lovely lady makes easy cheap meals from the depression. Most is vegetarian since meat was expensive then.

Always budget! Add up everything you need to pay for each month and then you know how much you have left over to eat/have fun/no clue.

There are tons of cheap simple budget meals online. Also go to the cheaper places to buy foods. Frozen veggies are good and usually cheaper and last longer. Also.. they freeze the veggies right away so they are top quality at the time of freezing.

If you have any other friends living on their own ask them.
Food banks are very handy.

I know how it is. I get a decent ammount of money each month since I'm at Uni, and yet sometimes the money's gone before I even get to touch it it feels like. And people go "uh, how is that possible?!" BECAUSE SH*T IS EXPENSIVE! >_>

I t's hard at first but once you get into the "swing of things" thinigs will seem a little less terrible then they are right now.

When I was 16 I was kicked out and had to live with a family friend. It was hard at first and I hardly knew the person so it was akward. But, eventually I made friends with them and things got a little easier.

I was in the same exact situation last spring. SAME EXACT.
But then I moved back home, so I suppose it doesn't really count, because I'm guessing that's not an option for you?
It's terrifying, but it's also liberating, isn't it? You don't have someone watching over your every move. You can do whatever you want. Whatever. You. Want.
I'm sure once you get your footing, everything will work out. (:
