Irritating Mibba policies, working class America, and early New Year's Resolutions. - Comments

  • I agree with this.

And, lol. I've always had a problem with this rule, and I don't normally give a shit for it. Most of the thirteen year olds and fourteen year olds drop the word fuck as much as the older people on this site. I'm not saying all do. But a good portion do, so I don't really see what who we're sheltering from seeing it when all we're doing is putting a little symbol instead of the second letter. It's not the end of the world; it's a word, not a picture of people having sex.

My advice as for the food thing, trying eating healthier snacks between meals and cutting out breads and such from your meal plan. Drink lots of water too, that seems to make you less hungry, at least for me it does. I'm terrible with eating, so I know what you're going through. I eat when I'm stressed or upset, bah hah.

  • Tonic-That's what I was thinking.

    spacejunkie-Thanks for the ideas! :)

Bella-Again, I understand what you're saying. But just cause there's logic behind it doesn't mean I have to like it. I don't, but you don't see me breaking the rules. I censor everything that needs to be censored.

  • I agree. A little asterix in place of a single letter is rather pointless. Everyone knows what you're saying regardless.

  • Buy whole grains and vegetables! If you get lots of veggies (including snow peas and bok choy, my favourites!) and wholegrain noodles or pasta, as well as couple of instant sauces (and maybe some prawns, which are really low calorie, or lean meat), you can make all kinds of quick, 10-minute stir-fries! You don't even need recipes for those. Just chuck in whatever looks good!

  • There are 12 and 13 year olds on this site, and if they do not wish to be exposed to swearing, they should be able not to be. And they do count as children.

  • Airi---I just hope it comes soon.

Bella---Though I understand what you're saying perfectly, it's just the way I talk, and I don't like changing that for anyone. Kids are a different story, but there aren't a whole lot of kids on this site.

I can't wait for the blogs as well, for the same reason as you, I cuss a bunch as well and we'll be able to customize their layouts. It's going to be so cool. xD

  • It's not sheltering people, it's just common courtesy. I don't shelter the kids I babysit, but I also don't say fuck in every other sentence, and I don't call the girl a whore even if "oh, when you're a teenager I'm sure people will call you that a lot, it's a cruel world".

    Common sense and desency, basically.

  • I understand that. I'm just kind of opposed to people sheltering themselves from the real world, and the real world is full of swearing. I can't wait until the blogs get here then. It's just a personal preference to be able to swear.

  • The rule was created because journals don't have ratings. It's to help people who don't want to see cussing or if they're too young. When the blogs get here, the rule is supposed to be lifted because the blogs will have ratings. But in the mean time, it's to protect the users who are either too young or just don't like cussing.

I don't know any recipes but, is there a bookstore near you? A lot of bookstores will carry books on healthy food diets that may be able to help you.
