I agree with ladyschrei too, and I should throw in that you'll know when it's right to start saying it/when you actually feel it.

With my boyfriend who I've been going out with for almost 14 months I would almost accident;y say it because to me it felt so natural like I needed to say it because I literally felt it bursting out of every pore in my body and my heart wanted to jump out of my throat and into his arms. Before him I had never said "I love you" to anyone other than my family or one of my four besties. So it was a huge deal when I actually felt that for him. :) I still feel the same way just seeing him and everything seems turned out and dim without him :(

I agree with Ladyschrei. I've been with my current boyfriend for 6 months as of tomorrow and I still don't love him. Luckily, (whether he loves me or not) he hasn't said he does and I haven't had to deal with the awkward situation of where I don't feel the same. I don't know why I don't love him, but it might be because I still love my ex and I feel horrible for it but I can't change how I feel and you can't either. Don't try and force yourself to love him. Just because you don't love him now doesn't mean you never will and like you said, you're 13. Best of luck!

You should just tell him the truth. That you don't love him, but you do like him a lot and want to still stay with him. If he doesn't understand, then he's obviously not right for you.

I'm not a fan of people saying "I love you" unless they mean it. I mean, why lie to someone about something like that? I'm sure you want him to be happy, but still. Personally, I would rather someone tell me they don't love me than they do love me and are lying.
