Honestly, I don't think that anyone will ever really know what parts are true and what parts are false because the media does twist things and people are biased and everything's a blame game and "he said, she said" and all that crap, but if this is true and President Obama didn't really believe in this and he felt he was forced, I have to agree with KnifeInTheCrayonBox and hope that he does the right thing and tries to get rid of the parts that are harmful. Maybe we can get the judicial system in on this to deem it unconstitutional, because it really is. When it boils down to it, taking away basic human rights, whether because he wanted to or he was essentially forced into it, is unacceptable.

As for the topic of this journal, I really have no idea what to believe, because I feel like everyone is twisting the truth a little. I'm sorry, but I'm not going to base my opinion on something someone said on tumblr.

v He could have gotten everything he wanted and more the first two years of his presidency, when he had a democratic congress. That's not an excuse.

I agree with this so much. When I first heard about the bill, I agreed with those who were spitting anger. I was pissed off. But in reality, I was blinded. I had no idea what I was talking about; I was fooled into blaming Obama.

I have grown cynical and wary of what other people say about this. Obama wouldn't turn like that after saying he wanted to veto the bill. He is a human, after all, and I don't believe people can completely go against what they originally said unless they had reason to believe that doing so isn't possible.

Presidents are basically figureheads. They don't have much power, despite the outrage of angered citizens that claim he is all-powerful and now hates our guts. Uhm, no. How about focusing the real anger on the real power behind this move: Congress. I personally think Obama is a good guy and has good ideas. The reason why he isn't liked is because he can't get what he wants done. A good president paired with a bad Congress leads to us ignoring the guilty party and blaming the not-so-guilty party (I can't say he's innocent without proof; I don't know much of what he's actually done).

All I can say in response to the presidents statement is that he better try to get those parts removed, because nothing in that law, is worth losing our basic rights as Americans, over
