hahah, well my parents are like that too.
they wish for grandchildren but not until I have a stable job

purely korean grandchildren, oh i forgot to answer one of your questions. haha I know this sounds really bad, but I am the only man on my fathers side of the family so i have to pass down korean descendants... the only girflriends i can get in the U.S. have to be korean. because I have to marry a korean so I can have korean children.

there is a huge accent difference...
they tend to speak more in a chinese kind of way... with many up and downs in their words and we south koreans make fun of their accents... they have a lot of ~~~~~ at the end of words... if u know what I mean?
sometimes it is even hard for us to understand them...
however... it is not really like U.S. and britain? because... apparently you guys find that accent really attractive? we don't.
but there are different citys in Korea that have different accents... (like within south korea) for example if you live in the city you talke... i guess... a lot like .... new york way?? like cool? and... lots of slang... and then ifyou move out to the country side in korea... you talk... like someone in texas? tennessee?
and then there is a city called Busan in korea... and that place has people who.. have veryyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy attractive accents...
and another place... that is an island in korea... called jeju island... where... they speak korean... but... korean people can't understand them?? its like another form of korean. HAHAH

Ah that's a really great idea I hope it works out excellent for you. I think my parents are strange they keep telling me they want grand children now yet they always say don't get married till you finish college they are so fickle =/.

How many siblings do you have?

This question is kind of random but is there an accent difference between North Korean and South Korean? Kind of how accents differ between American and British?

    @WTFMusicPerson.
actually it is not quite an early marriage, since my parents are so old. it is quite shocking for korean people to marry any younger than 24 that is really bad!!!!!! we usually marry 27 or 30 :)

well there are many Korean companys in the United States, so I plan in going to business (since I am very good at math in the U.S) and applying to the Korean companies here and then getting a transfer from here back to Korea... once I have a stable position in the company.

I know very little Korean because I never have the time or money to continue to study it. That's why I do it in chunks. 8(

I will definitely check it out. Thanks!

feel free to talk with me any time,
I am a native Korean speaker, although I sometimes feel as if I am losing my korean :)
to keep up to date with a lot of korean events I recommend that site that I put on my blog, although it is just starting up I think it will be really useful in the future for people like you!

ask me any questions if you need help :) okay?

Do you plan to study here then go back to Korea to get a job in your field or both study and find work in the US? I'd suggest doctor that's always the best field no matter where you go in the world people need nurses and doctors.

I hope you do well and find a girlfriend soon. Are you hoping to go back home and marry someone or marry someone from here? I don't find early marriage strange my parents are already hoping I have a kid soon lol

    You have great English skills!

I would love to live in South Korea. A few years ago I discovered a love for Korean music which evolved into a love for its culture and language, too. I have been teaching myself Korean off and on for a while now.

:( well, my parents are not doing so well in korea, it is hard for them to provide for my family... and in korea... you have to study 24/7 if you can get into university and some people are just not capable of getting into university even with 80% average... So the problem is... when I was in Korea... although I studied hard... the reality was that I would not be able to get into university. Since I should have graduated two years ago (I am now 19) my parents were really scared I would fail in korea. So I was sent to live in the United States... My parents are getting old they are already in their mid fiftys and I have younger siblings... it will soon be my turn to be able to provide not only for my mother and father but also for my younger siblings so it is important I get a very good job. Also... I dunno if you have much concept of this idea in United States... but it is very important for men to get a job.. like doctor.. lawyer, prosecuter, and jobs like that in order to get married... and it is very important for my mother and father that I get married. I am already 21 (in korean age) so I will have to marry in about 4 or 5 years.. I should have a girlfriend by now but I don't.
