I was an honors student all throughout high school and kept an average GPA of 4.15/4.3 possible (the scale was slightly stretched for honors kids). Senior year, I took three AP classes that went all year out of four possible year long classes total- AP Chemistry, AP Calculus, and AP European History. I took AP Spanish as a junior. The workload overall isn't that hard for honors classes; it's really good preparation for college. Work hard and understand that you're building a foundation that will definitely help you your first year out of high school. I definitely recommend AP classes as well, even though my senior year was the hardest I've ever had, and I wanted to cry my way through it. It was an incredible amount of stress and work.

But the result was amazing. I learned so much in those AP classes because the teachers were the best (and hardest, most demanding, etc) in the entire school. My freshman year in college is about 1/10th as hard as my senior year thanks to the work ethic and standards I've been trained to develop and meet, if not exceed, in high school.

The first two years in high school is mainly just socializing and making friends. The work won't kill you.

Good luck and have fun! I wish I could go back sometimes.

High school can be easy or hard, depending on what classes you have. For me, most of my classes were easy and I was in Honors English and History. The only class I ever found hard was math and that's because I've always been awful at math. Honors classes aren't really that hard, they really just expect better grades and more effort out of you. If you're in Honors English, you'll probably get larger books to read and more reports to write but it's not much different than a regular class from what I know.

Honors classes are worth it because for one, it'll look better on a college application to have taken Honors and secondly, some Honors are college credit. Not all schools offer Honors classes as high school and college credit, but some schools do so it's worth a shot if your school does. It's worth a shot just because it shows that you can do well and put effort into your schooling.

High School isn't as easy as you think but it isn't as hard as you think either. I can be scary at first but once you've set a good routine and find a good set of friends to support you, you'll enjoy it. :)

I'm graduating in a few months. Generally speaking, no, it's not hard. It's school, so it's no walk in the park. It's full of bullshit and fakes but if you survived middle school, you're more then prepared for high school. Trust me. Be true to yourself and don't let anyone drag your ass down. Keep your head high and you'll be a-ok. :)

I'm a freshman, and it's not bad. Yeah it's more difficult that middle school, but it's nothing I'm pulling my hair out for.
Honors classes are easy. Challenging, but easy. Plus, you tend to learn more that non-honors. If you do the work, it's easy.

I for one procrastinate, so tonight I'll stay up till one finishing prompts for my English class. Yay for me being lazy.

High school in general isn't hard. Except for math but I just suck at math in general. It's more the people that sometimes make it hard.
I have A.P. History, American Lit H, Chemistry H, and some other junk. Personally, the only class I find somewhat hard-other than math-is my american lit h. Only because my teacher gives us so much work and only a certain amount of time to finish it. And I'm lazy. Yup.
