My Happiness Is Not Dependent Upon How My Teeth Look / Help Please? - Comments

  • I'm super self conscious about my teeth. I was running in the house and playing with my (not really) uncle when I was like..four. Well long story short, my mom had told me to stop, I ran to my uncle, fell over him...and my teeth are now crooked... I don't have the money to fix them...Now I'm even more worried about my future. Fantastic...

I'm sorry about the mission trip. I know how that is. I wanted to go on one a few years ago which would have been in Guatemala. I was also trying to plan a trip to Egypt which was a school thing. Long story short, I didn't have money for either but my mom had wanted me to go on the Egypt one.

Anyway, hmm, tell him that what you have is fine. It's your mouth and your future, you're able to handle both of them. I would expect discipling people would be more important than appearances. Besides, God looks at the heart and not the appearance and He's the most important One to worry about an opinion.

  • vv. I agree, and I would, but my parents won't look anywhere else.

    v. It's not that I don't care about my teeth, because I do. My retainer looks real enough, and I've been using it for years without anything bad happening with it, so I just don't see the point in wasting a lot of money for something like that when what I have is good.

  • I dunno, but if you don't care about your teeth, you shouldn't have to do with it what you don't want to. I think your very smart for being above this superficial crap, as well as the monetary gain. Ugh.

  • Have you tried other dentists? It's always better to have more than one look, anyway.
