Same Sex Marriage - Comments

I was just about to post about this. I personally support same-sex marriage. I'm straight but, love is love to me. I think it is extremely unfair that two homosexual people who love each other and have been together for twenty, thirty, even forty years can 't get married after being together for a lifetime, while any straight man and straight woman who don't love each other and haven't known each other can go and get married right away. There are a lot of people in the world who support the LGBT community and the numbers continue to rise. I think we're going to see a brand new Civil Rights movement. I honestly do. African-Americans and other minority groups here in the US, faced similar discrimination. Slowly their equal rights progressed and then they had a movement which helped them gain equal rights. Sadly, there are still racist people, the number has decreased greatly and wondefully. In fifty years, or maybe sooner, sexual orientation won't be an issue anymore to the majority of people. America is supposed to be the land of the free- and denying someone's right to marriage, regardless of sexual preferences is unamerican to me.

There really is no reason to have same-sex marriage illegal. All of the "reasons" anyone gives can easily be debunked and when it comes down to it, there is no real good enough reason to keep/make same-sex marriage illegal.

Even if someone disagrees with homosexuality, that doesn't give them a right to take away another person's civil rights, dignity, respect, and equality. I'm fully in support for same-sex marriage and I hope someday soon the U.S will be able to leave behind the archaic view that marriage equality is bad and step into a more loving and accepting future.

We can't get along because we're humans and one will always want power over the other. Religion is always fighting to be at the top, so that's why they can't just grow up and get along, even if they are being ridiculous.
Though I do believe in God, I believe in same sex marriage.

America has ticked me off for the last time.. Once I'm eighteen, I'm leaving this godforsaken country..

Its still ridiculous people can't just grow up and get along...

No country is entirely free, 38 out of 50 states have legislation banning gay marriage. Just like every other minority group to come before them they will get what they want. Such as the civil rights movement for instance

I find it funny that America is known to be a "free country" and yet certain people aren't allowed to get married.

Because everyone has a difference of opinion. Also you may want to be mindful of your words I think Journals with explicit language get deleted.
