Firstly, good on you for leaving him. It takes alot of courage to break up with someone especially with an unborn baby in the situation. It's definitely not good if you stayed with him just because of the baby.

Thirdly, do be careful. Like other people have said - if he's attacked you once, he's most likely going to do it again. Maybe carry pepper spray around with you or in reach when you answer the front door. Stay safe. (:

I think you did the right thing with breaking up with him, no one deserves to be attacked like that for breaking up with someone. And yes, please be careful. If he threatens you or anything, call the cops and get a restraining order.

Though I am sorry, I know you wanted to raise your baby together as a family.
