  • You're right, I don't know what death is like, but I believe it's peaceful. Like a dreamless sleep. We see and hear and feel and taste and smell all because of our brain, and when we die, our brain stops functioning. So without a brain, what can we possibly feel? Of course I'm saying this because I don't believe in souls and whatnot.

And as for selfishness, I don't believe that wanting, in general, is selfish. We could want to live for other people, and that is selfless.

  • Every thing in life that one does is selfish. Even not killing yourself is selfish because you want to live. Wanting is selfish.

Also, how do you know what death is or feels like? How do you know it is peaceful if you have never experienced it? What if death is actually more painful than life?

People make assumptions that nirvana is one's resting place but no one knows for sure. No one knows what death is for sure.
