I think that the picture is too amateur. Substitute that painting with a picture of a real person (model or whatever) in the same pose, and darken the colour coding a bit then yeah, I'd pick it up.

I like it. I think it's interesting and it makes me want to know what the narrator is hiding from us.

I think that the shading on the left-hand side is nice, but the picture of the woman is too...I don't know. I'd probably look at it for a second, just because of the title, and then put it back once I saw the girl. It's more ominous than enticing. Instead of coming off as secretive in a way that gets the buyers to consider picking it up, it's almost too... simplistically alarming? I think it's the colouration, and the fact that the picture looks... amateur and kind of cheap... Like the person publishing it didn't want to pay for someone professional to do an artistically expressive cover, and got someone with less kill to do it.
