Yes, yes and yes! I agree so much. I mean, regardless of the fact I get fanfics that I'm simply not interested in half the time, I still try and make the effort to exceed the 200 character mark even if it is just myself blabbering on about the layout or writing style.
I'm just pretty irritated by this feature right now!
For others commenting on your stories, sometimes you just have to wait. Sometimes people can't get on Mibba for a while or don't have enough time to read your story, but they will do it soon. Also, if it's fan fic, I'd say there's a bit of a wait before someone gets your story too, since there'll be so many of us submitting our fan fics to get a comment. I really don't see the big deal in having posted a few more comments than what you've received. Mine will be like that, but then I go to bed, come back on in the morning, and it's almost even again. Just give people some time.
If you get stuck with things to say, you can make remarks about the grammar and spelling (since that's nothing to do with the person/band they're writing about), or quote a line you liked in your comment (like a description of a sunset or something when they were setting the scene). Quoting will also bring up your character count and make your comment seem much longer.
I can understand that it can be frustrating to get a shorter comment in return, but occasionally someone does leave a great comment (good length and good feedback). More than occasionally for me, actually. I'd say that at least half of the comments I've received so far are actually useful.
Besides, if more people go past that 200 characters mark and make the effort to leave great comments, other people will probably pick it up the good vibe and comments will get longer and more insightful, even though there will always be a few people who try to cheat the system. If those comments are clearly just going to the 200 mark and not actually giving any feedback, you can report them to a story editor and they can take care of it for you.
