A Rant about Music - Comments

I wouldn't "beat the crap out" out of someone for insulting my musical taste...in theory or literally. My favorite musician of all time, Bob Dylan, is insulted all the time, especially on this site. I don't get into the arguments or get upset because, honestly, it's really pointless. I'll be happier if I just do/listen to what I want to and let them say what they want to. I don't care, to be quite honest.

I'd been listening to the bands I love since I was 12 or 13. My parents were always criticizing me saying that the music I listen to was too loud. But over time, they got over it and they just let me be. In these past few years, the Korean pop music industry is getting really big and majority of the people I know are totally obsessed with these Korean idols. K-pop is definitely not my cup of tea even though I have to admit that there are some songs that are fun to listen to. But I don't go bashing my friends who love it. But there are a few people who know that I love metal, punk and other rock genres that say I'm out-of-date. It's K-pop era and people don't really listen to rock music anymore. It just irritates me. I respect their interest. So why can't they respect mine?
