I'm sick of being judged for the clothes I wear and the music I listen to. - Comments

  • You know I feel the same, ppl today are just stupid like that. Someone always has something to say to put someone else down if they do function the same way others do. Like you said, you're mature enough to make those decisions, you're also mature enough to hit the un-friend button and walk away from those that are trying to make you feel bad about yourself or what you have to say about who is leading this country. At least you have an opinion that is all your own instead of copying and pasting what your friends or neighbors say!

  • Then just delete your fucking facebook. All it is, is a popularity contest.

Who gives a fuck what they think. In the end, all that matters is what you think.

  • In this case it doesn't seem like anyone's judging you for your clothes or music...they're judging you for your political stance. Which, trust me, is going to happen.

I'm the black sheep in my family. My parents are both very conservative, and I'm fairly liberal and extremely outspoken--and I make sure I know my crap inside and out, so I get into debates a lot, and its caused some issues with the family.

But you know, you pick your battles. If you think what you believe is worth catching heat for, then say it, and people who are going to give you crap can go ahead and do that. Back up what you know is true if you can. Keep an open mind to what others say, and don't be afraid of changing your mind, but don't be afraid of speaking it either.

    Just pick your battles.

Just keep in mind, getting defensive will be much more likely to drive people away than to get them to agree with you. And sometimes, it's okay (and even good) to keep an open mind to change.

  • People are going to judge you your entire life. Stand up for yourself and what you believe in - but there comes a point in time where you have to decide if the people judging are worth having in your life. If you can cut them out and be happy then do it. Better to make room for new friends and experiences than be dragged down by people who say they are your friend or that they care about.
