Well, lots of things are ridiculous in this world.
Especially how contradictory even the existence of America and the ideas it was based on is.
And well, what you choose to do/believe is your choice, I guess. It's not like you have to get married legally, or anything, right?
Well, idk, considering I'm not very good at this stuff. <-- no experience lol
I don't think I would be very good at giving suggestions here...
anyways, I hope you can at least figure something out. You probably don't need to legally be considered married to be happy, anyways.
Well, hope you find a good way to be happy either way.

I could do that. But I mean, it's ridiculous to have to leave your home and family and job and school just to get married? Even then, same-sex marriage isn't federal, it's up to the state, and can be revoked by said state at any time. Like with prop 8. So I could move to a new state and uproot my whole life, just to have my marriage right taken away from me again.

Idk, couldn't you move to another state that does allow it? You don't even have to be in American, maybe, idk.
Then again, I have no idea, lol. -__-
And besides, who cares what society has to say about how everyone has to live, act, etc.

Exactly! That is a perfect explanation as to why it's so important, ugh. I'm really not patriotic at all and this country really infuriates me most of the time. I can't believe that my girlfriend can't even go to the fucking doctor when she's sick, let alone tons of other people who can't either. Not to mention the dentist, ugh. The thought that I can't share a home or children or anything that straight people can have to secure their relationships just burns.

and AmorarEsDeVivir - well, I TOTALLY misread that. Wow. Ha, obviously I don't want that to pass.

some people say "oh marriage is a piece of paper" but UH UH it's nearly always straight people who say that!! and this is going to be the sappiest expression i have ever used but i don't see marriage as a religious function, more of a celebration of the love between two people (cringe) and making it official and having a giant party afterwards, and the idea of financial security as well is a big deal in america WHERE YOU HAVE TO PAY PEOPLE TO GET HEALTHY?? your country is so messed up (you haven't come across as a particularly patriotic person but i'm so sorry if that offended you) republicans are the worst human beings ever and i hate them all

animal soup - We don't want it to pass--it's to ban gay marriage in the state constitution. I mean, gay marriage already isn't legal in Minnesota, but this basically would make it impossible to undo. =(

I do love her more than anything and it would be so nice to have something to represent that and to just protect what I have with her. I love you so much hannah and it feels really nice to have someone understand.

It's really unfortunate. ): I hope it passes, you never know, right? I live in Florida, so I'm pretty sure it'll never happen here.

I agree on the wedding thing--though there is something to be said, in my opinion, for being able to have my family and friends there, meaning I do need to book a venue that can accommodate everyone!

But I'm sorry that you can't marry. =( It makes me so angry. My state has an initiative on the ballot this November to change the state constitution to define marriage as between one man and one woman, and I'm trying so hard to get people to vote against it, but I'm pretty sure it's going to pass and it makes me sad. =(
