Americanization's Double Standards - Comments

  • I can totally relate to this.
I mean, I'm not Hispanic but I am Asian and I sometimes canNOT believe
how I'm treated as well as people I associate with. It bothers me when I
(or others are) am "silently / subtly" ridiculed because of ethnic background.
What does that have to do with my competence, my intelligence, my feelings?
I catch myself with certain prejudices but jeez, I show respect and courtesy
to others, regardless if they're of a certain ethnicity or religion or sexual orientation, etc.
Because at the end of the day, we're all human beings and that's enough for me
to conclude that the Golden Rule exists: be nice and good to others, they will be nice and good back.
    Or so I thought. Disgust
