How do you get rid of Writers Block? - Comments

  • I've been there when trying to come up with a good song. Don't Be Too Hard on Yourself.
In fact, don’t be hard on yourself at all while writing. A great American Journalist, Anna Quindlen once said “People have writer’s block not because they can’t write, but because they despair of writing eloquently.” Turn the critical brain off. Write wherever is on your mind even though you think it doesn't make sense at the beginning. There is a time and place for criticism: it’s called editing.

Thank you so much :). Normally when I re-read over my old stories, I can come up with something, but that hasn't been working lately. I'll try reading some more stories or listen to a few more songs and see what happens. Again, thanks

  • Writers block is impossible to get over. You just have to wait it out. A good thing to do in the meantime is reread your old works. I have a doc where I put all my story ideas and dialogue. I reread that when I'm bored. Reading books and other people's works is a good idea. And listening to the words in music.
