Mhm. People just need to grow the hell up, honestly. I really don't get the thrill some get out of starting shit over the internet. It's beyond me. Lol.

I mean, if you aren't a fan of Avenged, or the video games, you have no business even clicking the link to watch the video. It's petty bull. Obviously, those who used to be fans, weren't even true fans to begin with, because only true fans would stand behind their favorite band no matter what.

I agree with what someone else said about the sell outs thing having to do with their sound of music maybe.
When I first saw this blog title, I thought, "Avenged being sell outs?"

Like when I read it I thought about their upcoming album and maybe people not liking whatever their new sound might be, but their cd isn't due out until this next year so I knew it couldn't be about that.

As far as the game stuff goes, I really don't see how it's selling out. I mean did anyone ever think that maybe the guys signed up to be in the game for free and not get money? They just do it cause they freakin love the game! I agree with everything you've said 100%. Other people just enjoy bitching.

Mhm. I read everything Matt said. He's a legit guy, and that's obvious even when he's not in one on one chats with fans. Just them on stage or doing interviews, you can tell Avenged love their fans. They released a song not just because COD asked them to, they did it for the fans. They could have easily just thrown in the towel and said that was it. Some people are just so unappreciative and don't even think about everything they've been through over the past few years. They deserve every ounce of respect and notoriety they've gotten. <3

    @ Miss.CorrCorr
Lol. I know. It was too amazing. Brian was too funny in the very beginning, and the audience members all freaking out and dancing was great. I love technology. Those animations looked just like them. Cute
But yeah, it's just ridiculous. Petty, absolute pointless immaturity. I wish people would grow the hell up, but it doesn't look like that's going to happen anytime soon.

I had no freaking idea that A7X was really 'in' COD. I thought they just made a song and that was it, but damn am I happy they did more. I laughed so hard when I saw the video and it upsets me that people think they sold out. Matt is the BIGGEST COD nerd that I know of in the whole band, so we all know he wasn't going to pass it up.

Matt himself said in a Reddit chat that they've been asked to do a few things, like most bands are, for movies or television shows or other games and the ONLY reason they agreed to Call Of Duty is because the guys are huge fans.
This isn't the ONLY song they've done for Call Of Duty either?
I can't believe people are saying shit like that. Sell outs my ass. Avenged Sevenfold is probably one of the only bands I know and listen to on a daily basis that isn't crazy about the money. They love what they fucking do.
Jesus people, RELAX. They had a blast doing it and being huge fans of the game I'm sure it was a honor for them to be asked to write a single for it.
    Now shaddap.
Agree with everything you said darling!

Mhm. As I've said, I'd be so excited if I could appear in a video game or tv show or movie. Hell, every time I watch The Walking Dead and they promote the contest they have, I freak at the idea of possibly winning and being featured in the game. The same goes for everything else I like.
Some people just don't have anything better to do. I feel immaturity and crazed fans are at their peak. With the whole One Direction/Justin Bieber fans vs. every other band, it's just getting worse.

    @ Synful Shadows
Yep. People don't have anything better to do than troll the internet and start shit. I see it everywhere. I seriously just don't get it.

Exactly. I would love to be featured in a video game, tv show, or movie. Honestly, jealousy at its best. People need to grow up.

    @ Haylie Jaed
This is the second time in probably under a month I've heard people calling them sell outs. I don't get why people have to trash talk so much. Nothing better to do, I guess. >.>

    @ Vengenz
Precisely. I probably wouldn't call any recording artist a sell out, unless maybe they changed completely just to impress their label. Avenged hasn't changed completely. They've grown up, sure, but we all do. I know I don't go around completely blacking out my eyes with eyeliner anymore, and neither do they. They're adults, and have matured immensely and so have their sound

They're being called sell outs again? They already got tons of crap like that for the MGK song, which to me would be more like selling out. (Not that it was, but I could understand it more in that case.) Everyone knows that Matt especially loves COD. I don't think it's selling out. It's just a little something fun for the guys and the people playing the fame. Is it that wrong to do something fun?

I agree. I've been a big fan of Avenged for so long. And as the person below said, they're sound has exactly changed. Granted Nightmare was different, but they had reason for that. They lost a brother and best friend, of course it's going to seem different. But as for the video game thing, if I had the chance to appear in something that I love then hell yeah I'd take the chance, and I'm sure a lot of other people would. People feed off the negativity they spew on the internet and elsewhere. It's no wonder a lot of famous people have gone practically insane.

Generally when I hear the term "sell out" it's in reference to music being changed to sound like everything else. Carry On sounds just like A7X and as you pointed out, they are big fangs of COD. I hardly see how this is them selling out.

Plus, Slash had himself animated and put into a video game. I think if he can do it, anyone can and it's kosher.

Really, people are calling them sell-outs? That's ridiculous.

They're just a group of guys trying - and succeeding! - to live their dreams. Honestly, when I first saw the video, I laughed and had to marvel at the fact that this was probably a dream come true for Matt. What little boy wouldn't want to see himself in his favourite video game? Matt got that chance. People should be happy for him!

    Ugh, the nerve of some.

I agree so much with you on everything you said. I hate seeing fans calling bands sell outs. Matt loves COD and if you had the chance to appear in your favorite video game im sure anyone would jump at that chance too. Every band changes their music style and its nice to see a7x change over the years and honestly i think they can write, create and perform any style of music well. People over the internet have nothing better to do than bash five people who are much more sucessful than they are.

I agree with everything you just put. I honestly can NOT stand when someone says they are sellouts. It doesn't even make sense to me why some people think they are.

That is why I hate reading Youtube comments. People can't be nice over the internet. That's like with Dream Theater fans. They talk so much shit online, and dislike Avenged for what ever reason. I think because Portnoy, but who the hell knows. They were saying how much the guys are such rock stars, they're not like they used to be. Blah blah blah. It's called change, and the guys have grown up so much over the years. They are professionals now, and make their own choices and decisions. That's like with Black Ops. That was something they wanted to do so they went for it. Why can't people just let them be?

Agreed. It's really just silly. I'd love to make an appearance in a video game, movie, or tv show; I hardly think that would make me a sell out. I don't get it, honestly.

A lot of bands have appeared on tv shows, video games, and stuff with songs written for those movies, shows, etc. So, I don't really see how A7X would be selling out for helping promote game or themselves in a game that they like. My favorite band, Genesis made a few appearances on this old show called Miami Vice and Phil Collins made it into Grand Theft Auto: Vice City. So, people really need to not make such a big deal over something like this. A lot celebrities, not just bands, do this kind of thing, too.
